As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
But my hatred of all things luton town has finally got its reward with their expulsion from the football league
their crappy ground
their big shitty fences
their fucking awful plastic pitch
danny wilson
the frank-en-stein brothers
the 1988 league cup final
fuck them i hope they never crawl back up again
a bit petty but fuck it thats the kind of guy i am!
Whilst i feel sorry for some of there fans, just like the thread starter i have a long memory, away fan ban, membership cards, plastic pitch etc i am afraid that what goes about comes about. Might watch them at my local conference team next year if Arsenal not playing lol.
Have worked at Luton airport several times and much more than I would have liked, it is an awful place to live and work, whenever I mention the fact that I did work there I always find myself telling people just how dire it was!
The different communities do not mix well, the first nite I was there it took me 4 attempts to find an immigrant taxi driver who knew the road I was staying on even tho it was a main road and I had to laugh when I heard on Radio 1 a while back that it was voted the worst place to live in the entire country!
My first horrific traumatic Arsenal moment was the 88 League Cup final. The mere mention of Littlewoods or Luton Town still sends shivers down my spine. I still have the scars!! Those blasted Stein brothers......
As a relative whippersnapper I remember being all but in tears when they beat us in the League Cup final. Totally distraught y the experience.
As a follower also of my local team with history of financial troubles (Aldershot) I have little sympathy with their relegation. 15 years ago they would have been booted out of the league completely and wound up. Now they get to hide behind administration not once, not twice but 3 times and still have the temerity to whine about the unfairness of it all.
Going back to 1988, Luton played Oxford in the League Cup semi-final. Next season that will be a non-league game - how times change!

Used to play in the same team as Anthony Charles - I think he plays for Aldershot now!? Just wondered if he was any good Parky? He used to be a quality left-back, had 5 or 6 clubs after him at one point including Utd before he chose the Chavs.

Yep, he is now in his 2nd spell at the Shots after being there for a while in the Conference as well. Decent lower league defender - always in the Shots first team when fit. Generally plays centre back these days though moves over to left back when required.
Too young to have that much of a hatred of Luton... the Milwall riots were hardly Luton's fault tho?
Sad day that a club can get fucked over so badly by the FA. Let's just hope they wield their axe in a similar fashion when Man Usa and the **** go into a similar financial quagmire in the imminent future
