Do the "away fans" go to home games at all? And if they do, do they only go to the big games? I've always wondered why everyone praises them so much why don't they go to home games and cheer on the team loud at home also? And yes I know the recession and all that, but if they have money to be travelling wouldn't they have money to go to the home games as well? Just a question I've been thinking about

i go to the majority of both, truth is when your away stewards dont seem to give a shit, plus as there is just 3000 of you then you almost feel as it its expected of you to make noise...and there is nothing better then 3000 arsenal supporters silencing how many tens of thousands of mancs(last season after the 2-1 defeat)
home games are just...pfft

That's what I don't get? I'm not trying to pick on you, but I feel like the "away fans" feel like they are entitled to something extra.xDAVEYx wrote:there should be sections at the grove that should only be available to thoswe with away credits.....
Not trying to start controversy and maybe its just my lack of understanding

I've been to nearly all the away games this season but only about 8 home games, mainly because of money but also because i enjoy away games so much more, the experience is so much better. i used to love going highbury and got such a buzz but that seems to have disappeared since our move mainly because of the stewards and how they dont let you stand, even in the back row!!!

Where's Muttley Gooner? I liked him...hugh jardon wrote:Away fans hold a certain higher 'status' amongst fans as they (generally) spend the most time/money etc travelling the country following Arsenal.
Their vocal support is more noticed at away games as the support is sectioned together, rather than at home, where the same hardcore fans are not sat together and are split in around the ground.
The vocal support is regarded as 'quieter' at home as although there are thousands more supporting the team sat together, the attitude is much less fervant, with many fans there to be entertained by the team, rather than provide the vocal support to lift the team.

I try to get to as many away matches as possible but with my silver membership its hard to get two tickets together. I could maybe get 1 of here or from a mate but im not a massive fan of doing long journey by myself.
Overly strick stewards and general non chanters dilute the atmosphere at home whereas during away matches most people are chanting, standing, getting behind the team. Plus the whole away game experience of being at a ground you may not have been in before is usually better than the home game experience of being told to sit down eventhough the people behind you are standing anyway
Hopefully tonight there will be some atmosphere. I dont think villareal brought alot of fans so even our 'Arsenal,Arsenal,Arsenal,Arsenal' chant will drain out their noise
