Onlinegooner flag?
Following on from the "united colours of arsenal" thread, a few people suggested we all chip in and make a flag.
Any ideas?
Or quotes re: cost?

Out of the 3,000 or so registered members there are probably 30-40 that post regular so not sure we would get a few hundred to donate also i agree there is no saying that the club would allow it inSCREAM AIM FIRE wrote:im sure theres easily a few hundred members on here that would be willing to chip in a 5er or so, could be done...be a bit pointless tho unless you know it will deffinatly go up in the stadium

I reckon £1000 would be an easily reachable target. The real problem would be agreeing on a desgnflash gunner wrote:Out of the 3,000 or so registered members there are probably 30-40 that post regular so not sure we would get a few hundred to donate also i agree there is no saying that the club would allow it inSCREAM AIM FIRE wrote:im sure theres easily a few hundred members on here that would be willing to chip in a 5er or so, could be done...be a bit pointless tho unless you know it will deffinatly go up in the stadium

Sounds good. i like the old style cannon (remember with the cannon balls with AFC inside them) and Victoria Concordia Crescit would look great.Irish Gooner wrote:What about having Victoria Concordia Crescit as the wording on the flag.
Then having each of our old crests spread out on the flag.
I would have it Yellow and Blue too
ive had a lot of time to think about stuff today as all i've had to do is walk the dog and ive had a couple ideas.
1. a longer banner with:
WWWWWWDDWWWDWWWDDWDWWDWWWWWWWWWDWDWDDDWWWWWWWDWWW
across the top and the bottom with 1930's crests either side of a big fuck off 49 in the middle?
2. a big portrait of wenger with with victoria concordia crescit?
3. the new cannon, the old cannon and the really old royal arsenal crest with Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley'd & thunder'd?
just some thoughts.

The Gooner purchased a flag a few years ago which was seen in a photo from WHL behind Wenger when we won the league there (the second time)
Can't find a bloody image of it now, but we've also got a wallpaper of it http://www.onlinegooner.com/wallpaper/images/20.jpg
Anyway, have been thinking that we should try and get another one done, but the really big ones can be problematic because you have to get them in the ground, need the stewards to be OK with it and then you always get people moaning about not being able to see when it's passed over their heads
Therefore, I thought it might be an idea to get one which could be easily draped over the upper tier as then it's always on show and is much more portable. In the style of the ones that adorned the front of the North Bank stand in the latter years at Highbury. If people post their ideas here for what could be displayed, I'll then cost it and we can then decide how best to pay for it if people want to make contributions.
