I just found myself using the word "garbage".

For no particular reason. Normally, I would say "rubbish".

I blame too much exposure to American films (MOVIES !) and telly (TV !) programmes (SHOWS !)

Let's get this straight. A car boot is NOT a trunk. A bonnet is NOT a hood. A bumper is NOT a fender.

I do NOT say things like "have a nice day" or "missing you already" or "like, WOW" or "that is SO gross" or "was it good for YOU, honey".

The English language should be preserved for proper use by us Anglo-Saxons :unionjack: and Celts :tricolour:

Actually, you are probably right. There are a lot of gay people here and since its not punishable by death like some countries a lot of people are out of the closet.

Regardless, you still use a shitload of gay words which we make better :lol: :wink:

I think the word "gay" originated in America. :-P

I will agree that "hood" is a more masculine-sounding word than "bonnet" (even if it conjures up a picture of an unstimulated clitoris). :D

Got any other examples of words that you colonial chappies have improved? :D
