An absolute fucking waste of space

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

An absolute fucking waste of space

Post by Cus Geezer »

Not, many might apprehend aimed at the team. I don't doubt there will be acres dedicated to that here on the forum tonight. This is aimed at the 'so called' fans this evening, who made me cringe to even be associated with.

You might ask the question why I was not in the stadium tonight, well the cheapest ticket being £45.00 and once it comes to red members the only ones left tend to be the most expensive (around £92.00) you might say in a choice between food and shelter on the one hand and watching a game that's shown on free to air telly on the other, one's priorities are against being there tonight.

However despite this, I felt this was the most important home game we've ever faced at Ashburton. This being a trophy we have never won in any guise and it has been long over due. A win would have been akin to the legends of WHL in 87 or Anfield in 89, therefore to be somewhere in the vacinity would have been a must.

I wanted to be in the pins, yet I was a colleague with who lives in Benwell Road wanted to go Holloway Road. I'd watched the 1st half in the wig and gown. After the disastarous 1st half got the call to meet him in Phibbs, opposite the Rocket.

To my astonishment, while walking along Holloway Road at Half Time I saw some skinny bookish looking guy with one of those flags. I asked him 'were you at the game?' he said in the most middle class accent possible 'yes, I'm afraid I'm a sore loser' - you don't fucking say!

While watching the 2nd half in the Phibbs, after about 10 minutes in come these guys also with the same flags. I asked them if they too were there they said they were and went into some rant about the performance. I just said in a sarky voice 'til the end a boys?'. They went into a another rant about 'I pay £1200.00 a year, blah blah blah' I was like 'yeah....pay all that and walk out half way through the most important game of the season....well done you!'. Thing is about these guys, most would think it a social class thing and they are posho Johnny come lately, sadly they spoke with the same accent I do.

Tonight's backing from our fans was an utter disgrace. Full of it at the start - go a goal down start crying, by the 2nd half fuck off to the nearest pub - what a fucking embarrassment!

I was chatting with my old man about this after the game - his take was this. These people only turn up to see Arsenal win, when it doesn't happen they fuck off. He told me he watched Arsenal from 1953-70 when they never ever looked like winning anything, yet no one walked out at half time despite only paying about £2.

These wankers tonight paid £45 minimum to watch one of Arsenal's most important games, by half time they were sitting in the same pub as me, not even watching the game, telling me that it's their consumer choice if they wanna fuck off at half time.

It's a shame my mobile is so antiquated, other wise their mugs would be posted here for all to see.

I'll see your "Stay Until Half-Time 'Fans'" Cus and raise you with the sight of Arsenal fans gathering tons of those flags at full-time with the sole intention of selling them on ebay, and openly admitting to this as well.

Unbelievable.

Did pick up one of those flags discarded on Holloway Road, carried on the train home and was gesturing as if 'if you've got soemthing to say, fucking say it'.

Funny thing was on Highbury and Islington station going eastbound on the platform to Stratford I was trying to stir up 'next year, we will be back next year, we will be back.....'

No fucking response of anyone.

There was a guy on this train with West Ham tattoed on his knuckles. He was telling me that if this was the Hammers, they would have been singing regardless. It just makes you sad to see what we've picked up as fans in the last 15 years.

The *word censored* don't even know how lucky they are to be going to ANY game not just a big one like tonights. I wish I was able to go to at least two games a year and to hear stories like this makes me cringe
