Director of Football

Post by fridge »

Noticed Gerard Houlier at the Emirates both days, I think he would be an excellent appointment, not so good at management but i think would excell in this position, knows all the aspects of the game and a lot more experienced than Grimandi.

Certaily dont want Roeder!

Im still to be convinced what exactly we need a Director of Football for!?

Arsene looks after the playing stratergy across the whole club and is supported by some fantastic coaches behing the scenes!

As for Glenn Roeder if he got a job at Arsenal doing anything other than selling £5 a pop hot dogs I would be very suprised!

Houllier? Why on earth would we want him? Are just collecting Frenchmen now for the sake of it?

How about we get Raymond Blanc the chef on board and how about Jean Tigana too!

is that the extent of your knowledge of frenchmen gus?

its technically not a director of football position is it. its just a name given to what david dein used to do for arsene. which was go places and talk to people and sort out contracts as far as i can tell. arsene trusts houllier implicitly by all previous accounts so that would be a good start.

Thats all I need to know TFI!

Unless they are gracing The Grove in a red and white shirt or starring in the comedy classic Ello Ello I have no other need for them!

Well I do agree that we need someone to tie up the contracts etc but not sure if thats a Director of Football.

Whoever gets the job shouldn't make themselves too comfy as I reckon a certain Mr Dein will be back soon!

Well just hope he goes for more experience than the players he signs!

He will pick the best man for the job without doubt. If Houllier was there he must be a hot favourite but would not surprise me if AW waits until his new contract before appointing someone as DOF is there for transfers and less than a month to do business now and also doubt we will do much in Jan so doubt will need to appoint one until end of season.
