This is what people said about Chelsea when the Russian took over.

But if you throw unlimited amounts of money at the problem, there's a chance you will get it right eventually.

And five into four doesn't go.

If City get Tevez and a couple of others - and we do nowt ! :( :? - then the 'we are guarenteed 4th always brigade' , are in for a nasty surprise.

frankly from Radford's perspective the the dice roll and worrying about other teams is pointless.

yes, that´s my worry: a nasty surprise in 2009-2010 and we´re fighting for 7th place and the ugly Euro League

Chelsea were already in the top 4 when Abramovich took over, or at least were a lot closer than Man City were. They also had a strong squad already.

I'm not underestimating Man City, they have invested a lot of money already (over 180 million pounds in the last two years), but I think it will take them longer than it took Chelsea.

The big 4 as they were in the past won't exist anymore soon enough. It will be a fight between at least 5 if not 6 or 7, Man city aren't the only team with a lot of newly acquired cash.

So what you're saying is that we are probably looking at finishing 7th or 8th next year

That's a bit negative isn't it. Surely with our squad we should be looking to have it won by March at the latest.

Agree.

People can dismiss them out of dislike for the situation but if you look at it realisticaly then they are in a good position.

No European football to distract them to focus on breaking into the top 4, if they can assemble a squad to cope (as that's where Villa failed) then they will be a big threat.
