I really want to hear from Wenger what he's still doing with senderos...I think he has no place to fit in even on the reserve bench.

Please, add him on the window for sale so that we can make use of the fund collected on him for better purpose!

Why is it when we are so badly in need of a centre back of quality that Arsene still has faith in this lad

I THINK YOU'RE BEING A BIT HARSH ON OUR PHIL THERE BOYS.

HIS ONLY REAL WEAKNESS - AND ADMITTEDLY, IT IS A BIG ONE IN THE MODERN GAME - IS HIS LACK OF PACE. OH, AND HIS DISTRIBUTION OF THE BALL IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT COULD BE. HOWEVER, HIS HEADING ABILITY IS PROBABLY THE BEST OUT OF ALL OUR DEFENDERS AND HIS READING OF A GAME IS QUITE GOOD AND WILL GET BETTER IN TIME AND WITH EXPERIENCE, AND THAT SHOULD MAKE UP IN SOME PART FOR HIS LACK OF SPEED - ALA TONY ADAMS.

ALTHOUGH IDEALLY I WOULD PREFER ANOTHER EXPERIENCED CENTRE-HALF IN THE SQUAD THAT HAS PACE AND IS GOOD IN THE AIR, WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT SENDEROS HAS PERFORMED WELL FOR THE CLUB ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS (INCLUDING THAT GREAT CHAMPION'S LEAGUE RUN IN 2006), AND THAT HE IS STILL A YOUNG MAN AND HAS TIME TO IMPROVE FURTHER.

I dont get the Senderos hate in this forum. The guy got us to the Champions league final when Sol was out. He was a part of the Swiss team who were knocked out in the world cup without conceding a goal (Djourou didnt even make the starting line up). Why would a top club like Juventus be interested in him if he was sh*t?

Yes he probably lacks a bit of pace and has a problem playing against Drogba, but he provides something different. He attacks the first ball better than any of our centrebacks. Lets not expect a world class third choice centre back, no world class centreback would want to warm the bench. Look at Wes Brown, people have been talking how hes prone to mistakes but still you see him in the manscum squad every year. Senderos is a pretty decent third or fourth choice.

I think senderos suffered some confidence crisis sometime last season ... and there are signs he is getting over it. To get the best of our team, we must realise they are human and be willing to avoid forgetting the 100 good works because we noticed 30 bad works lately ... same goes for hleb ...

I second that. Can't put him in the Cygan category. Wenger made him look like a chump last season by bringing him on to replace midfielders( Hleb at spurs) or he ends up right back at blackburn. Senderos needs to improve but has shown (as stated in last post) that he is capable of playing well on a consistent basis.

Unfortunately, he needs to learn fast in this team and how to outmuscle certain strikers (ask Tony)

saw him in the ems cup along with hleb and they both look like 2 completely differend people, i mean cygan yea he was shit point blank, but after the way he played v PSG shouting and urging the team on, he aint goin newhere until arsene says he is, i think he will have his chance this year if fails thats it.....gone

wheres the poll? i wanted to vote to keep senderos in the arsenal house!

i rate him. most of the time. i think pointing to the champions league run in which he looked like the world class centre back he could be should really go without saying but it seems some of us gooners have forgotten how good he can be with a little confidence. and yeah he definitely looked like a different player when it came to the game against psg.

lets hope he gets a run in the side and builds his confidence up before he gets thrown in against drogba this season.
