What was your first...........?

Post by OneBardGooner »

It's great to see the diversity of Music tastes amongst us Gooners! and it got me thinking and remembering about the first records I bought...

What was your first single 45RPM (r CD Single for those to young to remember vinyl)? And what was the first album/CD you bought?

Single: "Reach Out (I'll Be There) by The Four Tops - I've still got it and I still get shivvers down the spine when I hear/play it... 8) - had my first grope as well ! aaaah (sigh) them was the days eh!? :D

Album: Axis Bold As Love - Jimi Hendrix Experience (for my Eleventh Birthday) - Got my parents totally worried

Come on Gooners dust off those grey cells and 45's !! :barscarf:

First singles actually as it was a trip into town late 60s (fuck that makes me feel old!). That day I purchased Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheepy by Middle of the Road and Me and You and a Dog Named Boo by Lobo!!

Album? It was one of the compilation albums by K-Tel, again circa 1970.

Thanks OneBard, you've gone and made me totally pissed off reminding me that I'm not young anymore!!!

Blimey.....had to scratch the old grey matter on this one.

My first 45 was, without doubt, "call me" by Blondie. I'm not 100% sure about my first 33. I think it might have been a film soundtrack.

The first single I bought was "I've Got My Mojo Working" by ......The Mojos. Don't Ask!

Second was Knights In White Satin, by the Moody Blues. THAT was proper music.

First album was the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour.

God. I feel so fucking old! :D
