Adebayor missing start of season
so who will start up front with RVP...?
Presumably Eduardo but Bendtner has also done well in preseason
Walcott still looked lost again out on the wing v Lazio - would he play better up front?

Does this highlight the possible fragility of our forward line?
Season isn't even started and we will have 3 possible starting strikers. I mean one more, and you have to take a risk with who you bring into the squad (i.e youngsters, unproven. skilled but mercurial).
Saw Kanoute say that if Arsenal went for him he'd seriously consider.
I haven't seen too much of him recently but I heard he's been alright.

so far thats been the case - but he did well off the bench at the start of his arsenal career (setting up goals4 gilberto and flamini v villa and zagreb)
and took his goal v the chavs well
he's still young - hopefuly he can develop better movement and positional discipline on the right which will help him play upfront
does mostly look lost on the wing though

Theo is never a wide player. I seen enough to be confident that he will be one hell of a central striker though. His goal in Cardiff was so reminiscent of Wrighty, Henry and even Owen at their best. My only fear is, by Arsene persisting in playing him wide, his lack of performances and influence on games might affect his confidence.
But as they say "Arsene knows" and who the hell am I to argue?

Yes I understand that the plan is to allow Theo to develop physically but my concern is how he develops mentally. Not everyone seems to understand that young players need time. We all know that it wont be long before some cretins at Ashburton start moaning about him and that could affect things even more. I've already had a heated debate on the subject with someone at work.

Hi-ya WRF welcome to the forum, I think as far as Theo is concerned Aw has put him out on the wing to learn how to go past players this is where our newly departed No.14 learnt his trade and is probably why Aw was so confident that he could change him into a prolific striker, altho I think TiTi's progress surprised even him!WinterburnsRightFoot wrote:Yes I understand that the plan is to allow Theo to develop physically but my concern is how he develops mentally. One more thing there's a sticky post at the top of the General Chat page regarding repeat posts, can you take a look when you get a chance, cos you've had a double and a triple post on this thread alone, the server struggles to keep up with demand, especially during high traffic volume and so can be pretty slow, but one click of the submit icon is usually enough, don't worry cos everybody has done it, but it makes for less work for us if you can avoid them - ok cheers
