Ridiculous.
Boxing can be 12 rounds of repeatedly hitting someone in the head, boxing is a lot more dangerous a sport.
There has never once been a single death related to MMA, but how many deaths related to boxing?
Boxing is actually a major part of MMA, it's one of the skills which every rounded fighter needs to have these days aswell as jiu-jitsu, wrestling and submissions.
In MMA the fighter fights until the ref stops the fight, sometimes the ref is just too slow to step in but nine times out of ten he's in as quick as possible, and it's rare that you get someone like Dan Henderson doing that.
Also, in MMA the ref will call a TKO much quicker than refs do in boxing, which again makes it safer. Once he thinks a fighter isn't intelligently defending himself, he will stop the fight.
Ok the first 3 UFC's involved bar brawlers sometimes but we're at UFC 100 now and at about UFC 10 it began to get treated like a legit sport.
Alot of the fights aren't even involving punching. You get two Brazilian jiu-jitsu guys in there and half of the fight will be on the ground.
