Was gonna post this earlier, sounds like he had a cracking 45 mins last night. Hopefully he'll carry it on when he pulls on an Arsenal top again...

Definately, he has got something special this boy - seen so many flashes of it, really hope he breaks through properly next season.

Completly agree, i dont think there is any doubting the lads quality and he really is ice cool in front of goal, but even if wenger doesnt buy another striker i struggle to see where he will get a game outside the cup runs unless maybe a sub.

Hence why we dont need to buy another striker?

As i say, im not adverse to one coming in, but given the choice id rather our money went to a defensive position.

i'm sure he is going to be top top class, i only hope he doesn't get tired of warming the bench and leaves us for somewhere else until then...
but again, i do trust wenger's youth policy, so let's wait and see what goods come out of this lad

Same America that were so crap at the Confederations Cup?

Thats not really the point anyway, the point is he is showing glimpses of the promise he has. He probably isnt ready for regular first team football but hopefully he will get the odd start and certainly a few more minutes this coming season - he clearly has talent.

I do agree, our number 1 priotory should be a tall, powerfull CDM (enforcer type rather than a interceptor), but i also have a nagging feeling after losing adecashwhore our strike force may become a bit to samey as in not having a target man to hold the ball up.

Some may not a agree but maybe a another loan season in the prem for vela may help his progress. ???

Had we kept Adebayor I think Vela may have been loaned out somewhere, but I think he probably deserves a crack at it from the bench at least - same with Simpson. The other option of course is we bring someone in and loan them / one of them out , which is still possible of course, but id go for the former now option myself.

vela is the most overated prospect in the pl. If he is so good why doesn't he start? Aguero has been playing for Athletico Madrid since he was a teen likewise Anelka.

To be fair i didnt really think about Simpson coming back untill the other day, the only thing that worries me is that can we really rely on RVP and Eduardoto stay fit and partner someone/eachother upfront.
Maybe its now kind of now or never time for vela and simpson to really stake a claim in the team, because of adebayor leaving and it being unlikley wenger signing another striker. I agree with your orignal comment about rather spending the dosh on a CDM.

Eh? :? - he doesn't start because we have other top players in front of him, like Arshavin, Eduardo & Van Persie.

Anyway, he's only young... not all players develop as fast as Aguero, Messi, Cesc, etc.

How about Beckham? he was on loan at Preston at 19, and didn't really break into the ManUre side until he was 21.

Drogba was well into his 20's before his career took off, and Ian Wright was playing lower league football well into his 20's, too. And how about Henry?? wasn't he struggling at Juve at Vela's age? (or older?! )

There are hundreds of examples of players who develop into top class players out of their teens, so don't get too pre-occupied by comparing him to other wonderkids!

Anyway, I know from previous posts that you think Arsenal are shit (in fact, you said "our players are shit") but don't let that anger and frustration cloud your judgement on all things Arsenal... after all, Vela's only 20, remember! at that age, it's just nice to see that he's capable of making an impact at international level.  - he'll develop at his own pace, and luckily we have enough top players in attack to allow him to do so without too much pressure!
