the good old days at highbury

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Memories

Post by lowerwest »

Dont you will bring a tear to my eye.! So others

That final match at Highbury...seeing my old man in bits at the end. Brings a shudder to me just thinking about it.

Turning up 10 mins before a game paying and just walking in.

Standing down the side of the East Stand in the paddock.

The Millwall game 1988 and actually fearing for my life.

30p programmes with two colour pictures.

I said in a post the other day that nothing will beat standing on the North Bank to me!

So many of the things Nutty mentioned went to make that experience so special!

That was a great post!

Remember my first replica shirt bought at highbury, I was 12, no adult replica shirts at the time.
Pennants as well as the rosettes.
player photos at 10p each
I still have my first scarf- looks bad but I don`t care.

7" single: Come on you reds, come on you reds, come on you gunners, come on you reds, shoot us to glory, shoot us ahead, come on you gunners come on you reds.

Ticket prices.....was it a fiver maybe 6 pounds.....unbelieveable
