GROVE NOT SOLD OUT

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think nearly every game went to red last year anyway, by making up hardly any new silver members upon our move, the club did it by design as I think they were taking flak from red members and was afraid of losing them, and of course the income they provide!

I don't think every game we will
Last season we done very well to keep it full every game (expect for Blackburn FA cup but thats excused)
It only went into it's first public sale for the Emirates cup & most of whom took the seats were people like kids going to there for there first team match most proberley
Highbury was diffcult to get tickets for a number of years but now it's simple & more Gooners every week go
Our highest coward match there at the moment is Reading
Touts are finding it hard to flog & get ahold of tickets as they are season ticket cards in which just gets topped up every season & few sliver members will sell off there tickets
It's a good job that more tickets will be allowed to be bought by red members as they all pay there £30 a season in which sometimes they may not be able to buy a ticket to a game on sale
Highbury was always sold out because off good teams & Wenger
In the Wenger years it was very rare that rows of seats were empty & if they were it was for the ol kids playing in the league cup who weren't as good
Wenger has changed Arsenal into the best team who has bought in the best & won trophies
In the boring boring Arsenal era loads of games weren't sold out only being the big boy matches in which was good day for ticket touts around the Highbury area

Not that I know any touts, but I'm sure that's not the case. They always seem to be sniffing around the ground in their numbers whenever I'm there. I'm sure there's a way around it - not that I encourage it.

a lot of people still get tickets and do not scan there card thru.. every supporters club do, travel agents etc so theres always a ticket 2 be floged and some tourist ready 2 buy it

If all Red Members are like you Stearmaster, then the Grove would have an awesome atmosphere. Unfortunately, I'm not sure they all are...

Home games in Augusy are usually poorly attended due to kid's summer hols etc. therefore it is no surprise we are struggling to fill it after the novelty of last August has finished.

For those of you that wonder how touts source their tickets now I can enlighten you...club staff. Last season I brought the good wife to London for the weekend (as you do) and it was the weekend of the boro match. While in the hotel lobby I was informed by a porter that they have a "broker" than can obtain tickets for matches and events in london and even though I had been to the emirates for the villa game 2 wks previous I managed to persuade the missis (a lapsed fan) that we should get 2 tickets for the game. The tickets in question seem to be in the section for staff members(we were in the row behind mart poom & his family) and had no price on them and the cost of these tickets ? Only(??) £300 stg for the pair. Even though that cost was shocking I still have the mobile number of the broker in question in case my usual supply of tickets dry up but if he charges £150 per ticket for boro I shudder to think what he would charge for a big game. :x :x :x :x :x :x
