International teams at the Emirates

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

International teams at the Emirates

Post by stats »

Well it was last September when the Emirates hosted it's first Brazil match against the Hand of god team then in February Brazil returned to England to face Portugal only to get beat 2-0
Sadly England won't be playing on the Emirates soil for a long long while as Wembley will host every home game till at least 2018
It's pointless in a way but it would be nice to see more teams play at the Emirates rather than Arsenal as we're all use to it by now
It was strange watching Valencia play in both days off the Emirates cup but a different experience for Gooners that saw them play
I'd like to watch the youth teams etc to play at the Emirates as there home games as they use to at Highbury before
But getting back to the topic, Is there a country that you've wanted to see play at the Emirates at all
Most Gooners will go for Ireland as being Irish & closer to home
Any team you's fancy watching this season maybe

think brazil are contraced to play 3 more friendlies at the stadium over the next year or so.

so let's have brazil v france to see henry and vieira back on arsenal turf.

tell you what would also be good. a charity game featuring arsenal old boys (still playing) v the current team.

line up could be...
manninger
lauren - sol - cygan - van bronckhorst
ljungberg - vieira - edu - pires
henry - anelka

or something like that.

It was supposed to be a benefit match for Marcel Desailly and there was talk of Roberto Baggio playing. It got put back to some time in October last time I heard.
