Johan Djourou
Johan Djourou
I know that there was a thread about this somewhere, but I can't find it - threads are breeding like rabbits on here.
From the BBC's Gossip column:
Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is set to join Birmingham on loan for the season. (Daily Mail)
I am hoping that along with about 90% of what is written in this column, this turns out to be nonsense.
I am prepared to put up with alot and try to look at the bigger picture. But even I can't see what possible good that this would do.
Can someone explain it to me please? It seems like sheer lunacy...

I hope you are right Magic Hat as we all know we will lose Kolo for 6 weeks for the ANC and i just dont trust Senderos. If Wenger does loan out Djourou he will have to buy another centre half we cant rely on just three now and only two in Jan/Feb
I rate Johan highly & he don't turn out to be the next loan player to leave Arsenal esp at Birmingham where Bruce & Arsene have a good friendship
Senderos to me in pre season has left his bad form behind & wants to look on foward for a better season
When Kolo is away we have Senderos to hopefulley be along side Willy
Sagna can be replaced by either Hoyte or Eboue (Don't go there ECD lol)
I'm most worried about left back with only two men up for the job (i don't want Hoyte on the left) & Clichy another player who had a fine pre season who we cannot afford to lose to injury
Arsene has till the end of the month to buy & maybe a good last mind buy might do us but we need to start off well & reach the top 4 in early days esp before we get to the Lane

Johan Djourou is now on loan at birmingham until January:

I was hoping that wouldn't happen...

I'm not happy about this at all - Djourou is a better all round player than Senderos, and this leaves us short of recognised centre backs.
Things were so bad last year with Gallas, Toure, Senderos & Djourou that Gilberto played there some times - and we let one of them go?
The squad is small enough as it is without letting a player that could have played an important role for us go.
Another bad move for my money - fcuk experiance, he could have got that helping Arsenal win games rather than bloody Birmingham.
Any other players want to leave before August 31st?

I'm with donaldo. I think Senderos is the one who would benefit more from a loan spell somewhere.
If we get suspensions or injuries before January then I suppose it will be Gilberto and Song as fourth choice Centre Back.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's slightly confused as to what exactly is going on.

i'll have some of what wenger is smoking . why the hell would he let jhorou go on loan . as it is we are very short on cover for left back so now we cant even use gallas as cover if clichy gets injured ( let alone play clichy as left wing when needed ) .
if we aren't unlucky with injuries we should be fine with or without jhorou , but why is wenger taking so many risks
