Proud to be a gooner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Proud to be a gooner

Post by AFCWozza »

I really cannot believe some of the comments i am reading on here tonight.

Arsenal were extremely unlucky not to win that game this evening, we battled like lions, controlled the game for large spells, created numerous chances, had a clear cut penalty denied and for all the world looked like winning that match. Please take note we were playing the champions in there own back yard without Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott, Rosicky, Bendtner and Eduardo starting.

We were undone by a penalty, which IMO should not be given (not because it wasnt a foul, simply because Rooney was on his way down well before any contact and the ball was already off the field of play before he hit the deck so he would never ever have got the ball) and one of the freakish own goals that happen in football.

Yes it was disappointing to lose the game, but if people do not see the strides arsenal have made over the last 12 months off the back of that performance they are blind. I genuinely believe that we will go on and win this title this year, its a blow to lose to united away but they lost at the emirates last season, if we can kill off the lower sides which i think we will this season and do well in our home games we will be very very close.

Im very proud to be a gooner tonight, despite the result, fuck United.

I'm sure everyone here is proud to be a gooner, and barring Ashburton Grove secretly acting as a front for a kitten-killing factory, always will be. The real question is, can we be proud to cheer on a diving embarrassment that is Eboue?
