Djourou out for 6 months

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

for fucks sake.

Thank fuck we kept Senderos.

I like Big Phil, this could be his chance to change people's perception of him and play the way he did on our road to the CL Final and the FA Cup win.

... and so it begins, 6 months out, keep Senderos? Why didn't we buy when we had the bloody opportunity? Instead of keeping a flawed player :? :banghead:

what world class centre halves without flaws would have been available and willing to sit on our bench?

Hangeland is not better than Senderos, not in a million years.

Why would you care about others perception of Senderos?

The one person whose perception counts loaned him out last season as he was surplus to requiremnts and tried to sell him for the same reasons this summer.

The fact that you have to go back to his form of three seasons ago, when he was adequate at best, to find a reason to believe in him says it all really.

Best we get behind big Phil then, we don't want to be accused of hounding another player out. He actually is a better player than a lot of people give him credit for. Maybe with our new pressing game he will not get as exposed to one on ones as he did previously.

I bet Drogba is quaking in his boots...

It also pushes Silvestre (god help us) further up the pecking order... :banghead:

Shame people keep using Drogba as a stick to hit him. The second one I think went in off of his knee don't think he knew too much about it. It would be better for our own supporters to remember how we got to Paris and who played on the way instead of buying in to the media's comments about him.

Oh for gods sake!

Nobody needs the media to judge him.

We have seen him with our own eyes and he is not good enough which is why the unquestionable Wenger wanted shot of him!

Bemoaning the loss of an average player with an injury record, then bemoaning the average/over the hill players who can replace aformentioned player.

I'm beginning to just accept this crap from the club as the norm.

I don't require the comments either Potter, I too, have seen it with my own eyes.....

If he was any good, why would Wenger loan him out all last
season, ? It's one of the few recent judgements that I agree with him on, Wenger obviously doesn't rate him either.

The loss of Djourou will be no big miss we have got used to him being always injured. But that leaves our back up CH's as Silvestre :banghead: and Senderdross :banghead: God help us if Gallas or TV get injured.

So another injury prone player gets another injury... [sigh]

Well, if it's not Djourou, then it's Rosicky, Diaby, Nasri, Walcott, or one of the other injury prone players.

And when coupled with the farce at Old Trafford, the Eduardo suspension and the lack of transfer activity, you can't help think we're destined for a lifetime of swimming against the stream :(

These endless disappointments have become the norm, and so it's just another normal week at the Arsenal, really

The only thing missing is a negatively spun article about Usmanov buying more shares and our week will be complete. Oh, wait... there's one in The Sun today  :banghead:

I don´t get it either.
Everton sign Heitinga for 6m, a decent prize for a dutch international.
I´d love to see him play in our team instead of Senderos, Djourou or Silvestre.

But Heitinga went to Everton to play in their first team; he wouldn't get in the first team.

Senderos is ok. His only problem is confidence, which can't be too high after a summer when no-one wanted him....
