Van Persie reaction to Adebayor incident

Post by projoe »

Robin van Persie has issued the following statement following an incident with Emmanuel Adebayor at Saturday's game:

"I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match.

"We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

"I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, there were no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.

"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match. We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak out about his behaviour."

Well said Robin. Especially after AW had been bleating on for the last few days about us fans showing Ade some respect. How about him showing some to us eh?!

I think that this is a Wenger backlash from the Eduardo incident. If that hadn't been mentioned after the game, it's highly unlikely that he would've been banned, so I think his new policy - to flag absolutely everything up - has led to this, thus quite rightly drawing attention to this disgraceful incident.

Well played Mr Wenger and RVP. Hopefully the greedy swine will be punished for both this and the unnecessary celebration.

Why the fuck were the mugs shaking his hand after the game?

Arsenal through and through my fucking bollocks. Vieira,Adams and the boys would have fucking nailed the elephant washer after the game.

Van Persie can say whatever the fuck he likes, the *word censored* missed a dozen chances ,was bullied off the ball and didnt take revenge on Ade either.

I said before that it was an assault. He knew what he was doing and wasn't a bit interested in the fact that he'd landed on RVP's cheek.
Totally meant it, should get 3 months in prison. (please)

At the end of the game, RvP came over to us and pointing in Ade's direction, clearly mouthed the word "Wanker".... a well played award for that, I reckon

Oh, and Irish... is there really any need to call RvP a *word censored*? - if you think he played shit then ok, but I really don't know what he's done to deserve to be thought of in a similar way to real *word censored* like Cashley and Ade... but that's obviously your prerogative, I suppose.

I was surprised how comes no one reacted when he kicked RVP, but im more surprised what the fuck is RVP acusing him now when he and his team mates should react right after the incident, because this incident changed the way of the game.

What is all this nonsense? You guys make it seem as if no Arsenal player ever suffered a heavy challenge in days of yore?

The mass brawl at Old Trafford springs immediatly to mind where opposition players weren't too afraid to face off an Adams led team.

Neil bloody Ruddock squared up to Vieira, who lets face it found all the muscle to summon up a mouth full of phlem against him.

Recently this team had an on field brawl in the league cup final against Chelsea, very Arsenal if you ask me.
