are we hypocrites?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

yeah there is a difference, thierry did it in the NLD,i had some spurs supporting mates who said it was good that it still meant something to some of the players

adebayor doing that was all a consequence of him being a money grabbing *word censored*

Henry didn't use to play for spurs, I don't really care if an opposition player runs over to us when they score.......but an ex-player is different and normally no-one would dream of doing it.......but it shows Greedy up for the classless *word censored* he truly is

For an ex-player to run 90 yards and celebrate like that was outrageous, and when the FA find out that that provocation led to a steward being led away injured, injured fans, arrests and missiles being thrown onto the pitch, I think they'll act.

If it was Robbie Keane, or Sheringham, my blood would be boiling, but like Henry, it's all part of the rivalry between fans and clubs, and is therefore fair game.

Ade broke the sacred code, and his soul will rot in hell for it

He could have started a riot - I'm sure people may have been hurt by the crowd coming forward. An irresponsible thing for him to do.

I bruised my shin as people surged forward!!

Really, I did

Anyway, as I said in my post above, a steward was injured and taken away, and several fans were injured, too. There were also several arrests.

Pretty small fry, I know... but I think the FA will act. Probably a large fine, and a 3 match ban for stamping on RvP.

At the end of the day, a kid could have been there, an OAP, and could have been hurt. You may have hurt your shin but you shouldn't have, what he did was very irresponsible.

Good point. I'll sue the fucker!

Anyway, I think we agree that Ade was stupid and that the FA should act. I hefty fine, I reckon.

There was a father down the front holding a little toddler. Didn't notice him untill after we scored. When he seemed quite scared and upset. Manage to apologise to him though. Hopefully he was alright after that.

Complete chaos down the front after the first went in  ended up 3 rows infront leaning over the concrete wall. Hugging random people and crazy celebrations, you can't beat em. :barscarf: :-P 8)

The point I'm making is you should be safe - that why we dont have terraces anymore. Personally, I think you've every right to complain.

I now it's harsh but this is the reason why i believe the elderly and young shouldn't attend away games.

I agree.

Away games are more boisterous affairs, and we don't want to totally kill the atmosphere.

Also, fans with tickets in the away end should expect to stand... and asking others to sit should not even be an option. If you can't stand for 90mins then DON'T SIT with the away fans.

After all, home games are all tame now, so the only part of football that resembles the terraces in any way are the away games.... they're sacred and should be protected.
