Resting a goalkeeper that has no backup goalkeeper with any first team experience for a vital champions league game? Seems like hes dropped to me.

I think Pi7es is right! if your rested it would be a swap in personel with Blondie on the bench if needed.
I'd say Denilson's been dropped also. :D

Its brave if he has. What's the extent of Mannone's first team experience, Stoke at home last season? He looked ok in pre-season but that was against shite opposition.

I dont get it, surely you dont rest your goalkeeper 5 games into a season. Almunia deosnt play internatioanl games so he hasnt travelled half way around the world last week.

He must of been dropped, massive gamble with no experienced keeper to bring in. 3 loses in a row could destroy our team confidence.

Update.

"Manuel Almunia is sick so he will not be with us," revealed Wenger before flying out with his 18-man squad.

"From Saturday we lost Robin van Persie with a knee problem but it is a question of days for him [until he is fit]. As for Denilson, I took him off on Saturday for a back problem. It is a question of days again for him."

not only better, i think szczczczczny is very promissing and mannone does not look very good to me.

but goalkeepers are hard to evaluate when they're young, though...

The 2 younger keepers can be no more a liability then Manuel.
