Turkey Vs Israel

Well, I've been in Turkey in the 2008 summer, but after what I see this country showing on prime time TV, I don't think it's safe for me to go there anymore.

Turkey, who was a real friend of Israel, but in the last 2-3 years the relationship between the countries is getting worse everyday. The main man responsible for this is Turkey's prime minister, Arduan, the leader of a conservative, religios party, who won almost half on the votes on the last elections in 2007.

Today, a line was crossed, This is a show that's aired in prime-time telly in turkey. This is the most twisted, inciting video agaisnt Israel I've seen in a long time. The opening scene "shows" gaza in the days of "cast lead". The opening minutes are shocking, especially the last battle scene, when an Israeli soldier is shooting an innocent girl.

Very sad to see ANY propaganda films. From ANY source. And for ANY reason.

This particular film would be funny, if it wasn't so sad.

Amatuerish in the extreme. The opening scene, with real bullets, would result in half the "heroes" shooting the other "heroes" in the back.

Would sensible Turkish people not see this for the pile of shit it really is?

I just want to get it inside some people's head that they can't believe anything the media tells them to believe. In the next time someone talks about how bad Israel is, in the media, I hope i could get some of you to consider the fact that the things he saying just may be untrue, deceptive, and biased. Don't be quick to judge.

Now the video I posted was exaggerated badly, BUT it was aired in prime time TV, on the national channel, in a country that's not an enemy of Israel. We've never been in war with turkey, on the contrary, the relationship between the countries has soared until the current Turkish PM was elected.

It may be a bit more sophisticated (and hopefully with better acting), but the anti-Israel unjustified slander, is everywhere across the world.

I'm not sure of which atrocities you're talking about. Actually since cast lead the relationship between Israel and the palastinians, especially in the financal and humanitarian aspects (jobs, medical care, entry visas), have only risen.

The palestinian people's last problem right now is Israel. The blood-soaked war between the two main factions within the Gaza (Hamas and Fatah), is the one that makes the streets of Gaza unsafe. The things I hear about what's going on there are pretty devestating. A palastinian pundit, said once, "The chances of Hamas signing a peace agreement with Israel are bigger than it singing a similar agreement with Fatah".

Ahhh the famous Goldstone report. The most biased piece of paper I've read in my entire life. 95% percent about Israel, and 5% about Hamas.
A prime example of this report being very anti-Israeli, is of Irish military investigator, Dezmond Trevors, when he asked a couple of palastinians psychologists, "What do you think is causing Israeli soldiers to shoot Palastinian children infront of their own parents?" (a bit like that Turkish show, ain't it?), this whole report is based on biased, anti-Israeli, claims. BTW, when the two psychologists said that the main cause of internal violence in the palastinian society, including violence agaisnt women, was only because "The Israeli occupation", the committee didn't even argue with this most stupid, unlogical claim.

You must not forget we went to this operation because we had no choice. What would you do if one of the cities in your own country would be bombed in a rate of 90 missiles a day? Israel is not the aggressor, Hamas started this war.

The IDF is one of the most moral armies in the world in my view. What other army would call every house that stores Hamas weaponry and tell them to evocuate before it will be bombed? Send thousand of flyers, and text massages telling civilians, when attacks are going to happen.

Hamas, a terrorist orginaztion, was elected by the palastinians. You can't forget that. We were fighting agaisnt a TERRORIST orginization, not another army who cares about it's people.
Hamas used their civilians homes and bodies as a human shield. They hid weaponry in homes, hospitals, schools and many more crowded areas. The Goldstone report ignores that, why?

Rebel, I'll leave you with a gem from Hamas' charter, "Israel will be established and will stay established until Islam shall nullify it, as it nullified what was before it.".

This report is a win for terror..

If they vote in favor of that report, than yes, they're wrong (wouldn't be the first time), unless a vote for terror is the right one..

We've had a previous thread on here about the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. And all the political stuff that goes with it.

It got a bit heated.

I'm pro-Israeli in this. And I'm not Jewish.

Prior to the Israeli incursions into Palestein (and what exactly IS Palestein?). There were people launching missile attacks into Israeli-held territory. With the sole purpose of killing and maiming other people. This had been going on for many years. And it's called terrorism.

Now, if somebody was throwing bricks at your windows at home, and you were worried about your family being injured or killed, would you be patient enough to let your local politician try to solve the problem?

Or would you be tempted to go and sort it out with retaliatory violence?

I think the Israelis are as at fault as the palestinans..... My understanding is the country of Palestine was given to jews after world war 2 (by the British to appease the jews after the attrocaties of Hitlers Nazis) and palestinans forced to move, many into refugee camps.... Now im against terrorism in every form but can you imagine if everyone in say Essex, London and Kent were forced from their homes to make way for foreigners i can imagine some serious trouble and who could blame them?!?!?!?! I'd be pissed off and thats putting it mildly

I dont see a need for threads like this on here as it only causes arguments and we wont change the video or the view on it in Turkey so why post it?

I agree. After all, it's not like Israel has blockaded Gaza for ages which leads to all sorts of shortages

All the propaganda towards you is just a few short films and some reports on paper, not something major that can turn the whole world against you.

A few points.....

Hamas and their political opponents in Gaza have been having a very nasty war for quite some time. Which has bugger all to do with Israel. And has probably cost more human lives than the Israeli invasion of the region.

The rights and wrongs of territorial occupation are very complex. Israel was granted authority over lands by the nearest thing we have to a world government. So you you could argue that they are legal landlords. Or not.

Taking THAT argument forward, you could say that the USA should return land to Mexico. Who should, in turn, give it back to Spain, who should give it back to the native indians they subdued.

Australia goes back to the Aborigines.

New Zealand goes back to the Maories.

The Anglo Saxons and Normans and Vikings should all piss off back to mainland Europe. The British Isles return to the Celts (the Irish lads will like that one).

And finally, if you are REALLY against foreign influence, you could argue that all people whose roots are in Asia or Africa should leave these shores. Which is, plainly a ridiculous (and racist) concept.
