Most overrated current arsenal player amongst fans and media

Most overrated current arsenal player amongst fans and media

Post by the playing mantis »

For me its easily clichy.
An 'attacking' full back who never scores, offers fuck all going forward, cant cross, doesnt assist, who can't defend, prone to massive errors, positionally poor. Yet the media and us lot think hes brilliant....why exactly???

his one saving grace is pace which gets him out of trouble on occasion when hes so often caught upfield or been sloppy i defence.

evra or cole he aint.

Diaby. I swear people over emphasise his "trickery" and "clever attacks". He's shit. Don't fucking patronise us!

I really thought Clichy was going to be world class when Cashley had left our club. And it was heading that way but in the last few years, his standards haven't risen whatsoever which is quite disappointing to see in a young player. Sagna was great in his first season but he hasn't improved either. We don't get as much as we should at times from Fabregas as well but he is not overrated in my opinion.

he is very good imo. needs to improve a LOT his crossing, and is sloppy at the back from time to time, but i still think that clichy is a good left back

I'm sorry but it has to be song for me - he has gone from being shite to being average but that, allied to the fact that we have nobody else for the position, seems to have brought him up into a good enough status amongst Gooners everywhere  It is like the story with almunia who many now want him to be re-instated as number 1 but not from anything good that he did but cos others have also fcuked up  He is in his 30's, has fcuked up numerous times while playing for our club, has been absolute pants this season, offers no prospect for the future but still fans want him back in goals over any of our 3 other keepers who havent had as many chances as he is and might one day be worldie as merson says

Without any shadow of doubt it has to be Theo Walcott - by fans and the media alike. Since he joined us in 2006 I'm not sure if there's been any progress and he's living off the back of a hat-trick for England and one mazy run at Anfield.

How many Prem Lge games has he completed for the Arse (answers on a postcard please) ?

Made from glass, runs in straight lines (normally straight into the opposing full back), the least intelligent footballer on the field (unless Adebayor or Baptista happen to be playing). I feel like I need not go on, other than to say the type of welcome he gets when he comes on as a sub is nothing short of hero worship which leaves me wondering what it is that everyone sees in him.

Ramsey and Vela are next in line - when one of them comes on in a Prem League game and does something of note, again, I might understand the hero worship

All three are in the "too much, too soon" category

so between all of the above posts we have most of our first team squad.

how depressing.

for me it has to be everyone barr Cesc and RVP. Everyone thinks most players are ok to good. but you can get the same people to spot bad things about those same players.
When Cesc has a bad day everyone looks shit, when he has a good day everyone is still shit but we get away with it , sometimes.

Nothing against the posts on here or any thread, i'm just bored of hearing this again and again. Long gone are the days when you'd go to / watch a game and be thinking how many are we gonna win by.

were holding onto a top 4 spot, if this carries on getting worse it'll be europa league for a couple of years and then it'll be top ten with a shout in the beer and or FA cup.

and to answer the OP's question it has to be Clichy. He had pace and some form skill for seeing a good pass and he's just got worse and worse yet people still think he's a great player. Changing from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 means he has to do more running but i never see him past the halfway line, so why does it always take him so long to get back to position to prevent crosses, instead we see our central defenders having to drift across leaving more gaps in the box. He seems to have lost a bit this season.

Silvestre for me.

He gets some stick. People think he is pretty shit.

That's doing him a dis-service by only rating him as shit when he really needs to be rated lower.

He is really really really shit.

Maybe, but Theo has already been more productive in the limited games he's actually managed to play in, than either Diaby or Eboue have in the copious ones they've been selected for!!

Ain't that the truth - he's been far more erratic than Diaby and yet he seems to be the darling of the Concrete Bowl

Well said Augie Song is now average instead of shite and the clown Almunia will never be in a championship winning team. Theo has a lot to prove still also
