HOW SHIT IS DIABY

Post by REB »

maybe its wrong to single out one player after we have just hammered our neighbours but while im not so blinkered to want any arsenal player i dislike to play bad and i felt song was our motm against the heebs which is something i thought i would never say and am delighted to be wrong, im sorry but diaby is just an awful player, good one week and then pants for the next 6
was he kept on by wenger on sat because he is tall :?: and
how do the likes of ramsey feel when they are watching this clown and they are stuck on the bench.

I agree here. He seemed to give the ball away every time it came to him. It was really frustrating to watch. Read the report in the news of the world the next day and he got the same rating as Fabregas and Song!! Its crazy!! :banghead:

He was awful saturday, has had a long run in the team now and has proved he doesnt warrant a starting place. Even wenger went ballistic at some points. Hopefully nasri will now take over in this posistion.

it was like Eboué against Wigan ...
I hope Nasri, Rosicky, (Ramsey?) will start instead of him now.

Second half he was good, first half he was very poor.

One thing I wanted to say since Saturday, is that while the support on the whole was absolutely fantastic on Saturday, it was very poor towards Diaby.

Say what you want, but when thousands of people start groaning and moaning every time a certain player touches the ball after 5 minutes of the game and don't stop until we're up 3-0 then that doesn't help that player perform. It drains them of confidence, you could see that he was nervous every time he got the ball until the last 30 minutes.

It's absolutely ridiculous to treat your own players like that, whether you like them or not. It doesn't help the team one bit.

Last year it was Eboue and Bendtner, this year it's Diaby. I know people were anxious after the West Ham game, but that's no reason to let one player feel the frustration.

It's just a small thing I noticed, otherwise the atmosphere was brilliant, as I said. Best I've experienced at the Emirates.

Abysmal. Utterly abysmal. May have been better in the second half but thats probably because the scum had rolled over by that point, and even then he was mis-placing passes and his movement was limited. Can't wait till Nasri is 100% fit.

And yes, I have waited all weekend to slag him off

I asked the very same question about how his continued selection and not being subbed must affect the mentality of players like ramsey and even arshavin and rosicky who are always subbed ahead of him  Tbh I find it a complete disgrace that the guy is continually being started and not being subbed and aside from the fact that he is french or that he is tall I cannot see any reason for this :?

Even though I really dont rate the guy and dont think he is Arsenal quality I have to say that being constantly played is not helping him as he knows the fans are on his back and his confidence may well be shook. Taking him out of the firing line for a while and playing him in the beer cup might help the guy although not to the extent that he will suddenly be good enough. One of a few that you know should be heading out the exit door but in wengerland that means a new much improved contract will soon be landing on his doorstep  :banghead:

Diaby is a good player. He can make good runs, he can make good passes and he can tackle.

The problem is he does not fit into the Arsenal side at the moment, he does not seem to be disaplined enough to play as a holding player nor commited enough to be an attacking player. He does seem more adapted to playing CL football than PL football where he gets that bit extra space to play in.

I think his style of play also makes him look bad he seems to have a very laidback style of play about him.

I think he needs to up his pace abit and learn when to release the ball or when to hold onto it better

He struggled on Saturday.

When he had the ball he ran himself into difficulties regularly. When he passed, he passed others into difficulty. He was pretty shambolic to be honest.
I sat with REBEL and we noticed how many times he gave away possession with poor passes, how he failed to win anything in the air despite his height and how he failed to read the game in general. He is not a very intelligent player at all and does not appear to be in sync with the rest of the team. If the Heebs were going to score on Saturday then I would have bet it would have been a result of a Diaby error.
I think he needs to be taken out of the side for a while to regain some focus. We cannot risk leaving him there until he turns the corner, it's just too dangerous.
I liked Diaby right up until the time he became a regular. From that time it seems like he has adopted a mentality of " I've succeeded now" and has stopped trying to improve. He is currently a liability to that team.

On to Alex Song!!!!
He was outstanding on Saturday. REBEL and I both thought he was our man of the match and we have been pretty negative about him in the past. Overall he still has some way to go yet but on Saturday he was world class. If he could maintain that kind of form then I would happily have him as one of the first names on the sheet each week.

I don't see a problem with it. The groaning only started after his 5th or 6th give away. It's not like Adebayor where people are on his back from the first minute, it's that he looks dangerous and will cost us the game at some stage. Wait till you see the response to that!

And yes, he's fucking shite. 4 years ago, he looked like he was going to be mustard, but has gone a long way backwards.

100% agree with that Vince. It crossed my mind on Saturday that Wenger wouldn't take him off because of what happened that day. He really was brutal on Saturday. The timing of the first goal was lucky for him, I think the crowd were really begining to get on his back then.

First half on Saturday he was shocking. Have to say I felt for the guy as his confidence was clearly shot. He was marginally better in the second half but not much.

The goals and the result have completely overshadowed that.

However, there was a method to Wenger's madness, in keeping him on and forcing him to push himself to improve. I know the is very much a minority view but I think Diaby is a good player. When he gets his tail up - so to speak - he can really be a force.

But he is woefully inconsistent. On Saturday that must rank as one of the most hapless 45 mins I have seen from an Arsenal player in ages - Sadly

Im not his biggest fan either. I can only imagine Wenger used him for his height against Spurs. That is the only logical reason i can think of after Ramsey was outstanding against Liverpool last wednesday.

I also thought this was another Wigan/Eboue situation.
I saw Eddie getting ready to come on and thought Wengers done the right thing in bringing him off. Only to see Bendtner limping over to the touch line. :?
