Replay France-Ireland???

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Replay France-Ireland???

Post by FrenchGun »

It seems all the Oirish players want to replay the game against France. They called upon the FIFA for that.

Well... In fact, after reading comments from the Oirish players, Trappatoni, and the oirish gooners on here... I agree!

I also think we should replay this game. In truth, it wasn't really fair, and as many of you I don't support this kind of stuff. SO lets do it again!

Unfortunalty, it will not happen, and you Oirish will remain out of the world cup...

Now lets put things straight. You have every right to be angry, and to ask for a rematch, and I for one, would sign straight away for it, regardless of the final score. If after rematch, we end up disqualified, then fair enough, I don't see anything special in this French squad anyway. They sadden me...

BUT! And it's a BIG BUT!!!

If you want to blame someone, then blame the C*nt Platini! STOP BLAMING HENRY!! This game is just another example of how the refs are becoming a liability. Games are being robbed every week in EVERY League! It just happens ALL THE TIME! So as long as the Dinosaur Platini won't change his mind on the video, these things will still happen. Sometimes it will go your way, sometimes the other.

In the end, I'm just asking you to switch your anger from one frog to another.

So we should replay any game with a controversial decision? I guess we should be replaying Liverpool v Birmingham from last week then and Arsenal v Celtic from earlier in the season and while we are at it lets replay the Arsenal v Liverpool FA cup with Henchoz's handball. I can't wait to see all these replays!

it wont happen because you would have to replay loadsa games THIS coming weekend.
Chelsea would have to replay all the games CARVALHO playes in because
every time hes in either his area or the opponents, hes always pulling at players shirts.
THATS CHEATING!
And thats just 1 player i can think of.
Sorry,i know its a bad thing thats happened but untill they put in goaline technology this will ALWAYS happen.

Frenchie I would stop supporting the game of football if a replay was ever awarded for a decision like this. We lost cos our players didnt take the chances when they came along and that is the bottom line.
Congrats and best wishes to you, vince, samis and all the other french Gooners out there and best of luck next summer even though I would rather sagna, clichy and nasri were at home recharging their batteries for the following season

Now please please pleae no more threads about this poxy game/injustice/former players or anything related to all of the above 8)

Yeah the logistics are gonna be tough, but I'm sure these guys calling for replays have the answer. What happens if the replay has a controversial decision? Shall we replay the replay? Its going to be a long time before we finish the premiership with these new replays! :?

It cannot be allowed to happen.

If we thought that the Eduardo ban set a dangerous precedent, can you imagine what this would provoke.

I doubt that there is a single game played each week that does not have an incorrect decision or some form of misconduct in it. We'd be here all day.

it's a ridiculous suggestion and the Irish know it will never happen. They just want to make a big deal of it for the sympathy vote. Well they don't get my vote because life is hard and sometimes shit happens. Deal with it and move on is always the best approach.

Replaying this match would open up soooo many doors and ruin the game! At the end of a season teams who are relegated will look back at games and demand that they are replayed etc :banghead:

I think we should replay the game against Sheff Utd as Overmars intercepted the throw in, crossed to Kanu who scored - when we should have given the ball back to them.....

.... Oh wait, we did... :barscarf:

This is not an unprecedented request and although i am not for replaying every game due to a more than dodgy decision, the media coverage and the severity of this refereeing cock up may be enough to make FIFA/UEFA contemplate the idea....

...Oh no, hang on a minute, Platini is French, what a stupid idea!! :banghead:

Arsenal v Sheffield United anyone

No, as an Irishman there's no way I'd want to see a replay. France are through, best of luck to them in SA next year.

Oh and Titi, despite what I called you last night in the pub and on a few alcohol fuel posts on here earlier......you sir are a legend and I forgive ya man!!!

They should have a penalty shoot-out.

Couldn't agree more. I remember the uproar when we scored against Sheff Utd in the FA Cup. We replayed, but that was a different world then.

France are through, simples :D :?

ive NEVER understood why the 1st game of a 2 legged match DOESNT have
extra time. :? :?
As far as im concerned yesterdays game should"ve gone straight to penaltys.
