Are we now budgeting for 4th?
Are we now budgeting for 4th?
Just been in a really boring meeting about budgeting and do u know what i wondered if our board and the shareholders etc have acutally budgeted over the last few years that during this interim transisition period the most likely scenario is that we get 4th. Thanks to Lasagnagate we got it in 2005 just but by in the large its been a shoo in. No one at Arsenal will admit this but is this the most realistic aim and am i the only one to be shocked that this has been allowed to happen?
After all has the same happened to Ajax,Bryan Munich et al?
And will the same happen to Liverpool when they move?
One last thing how long will it be before we can truly compete? (i need to budget for when that might be)

Hopefully before Fabregas sports the same shirt as TH14.
Look on the bright side though, 4th brings CL qualification and the shares will reflect this and the extra revenue generated by AG. All this without any nasty red entries in the transfer column, even the wages have been reduced this year.
Our Swiss resident will be pleased. Who needs diamonds?

I suppose better to play it safe and not gamble on winning a title we might not (ok, probably not) win and the quicker we clear off the debt, the better. At least we have a manager who can manage on a budget and Spurs are still managing to sabotage themselves so we have 4th at least for this season.

If we kept going 4th year in year out? Not long but don't underestimate Arsene's ability to make a great team from the budget he has, I think he has tried to make it so we don't need to splash out greatly for a long awhile but just to tweak. Not that I would be against another left winger personally but there is still time for Arsene to add if he thinks we need itCockerill's chin wrote:Magic Hat, the debt is long term. How long do you think players like RVP, CF will hang about for 4th??

He might add one or two players in though I think he will have wanted to have gotten most of his adds before the season.
Our fully fit first team? It is the best in the country when it performs, our squad could go either 4th or 2nd, I'm pleased with the potential, less pleased with our players unwillingness to go on and finish a game off but to defend. Get rid of that aspect and 2nd place, fail to and 4th. There is always something that can be improved every summer, maybe a new keeper or holding midfielder will be added next season, maybe something else.

I don't think so, he'd probably grow his own. Only then will the baby bean seed reach it's full potential. Mrs Wenger will just have to be patient for those great beans on toast.he has a degree in econimics. he budgets for everything. i can just see him in asda searching for the cheapest tin of baked beans
