Anelka & Martins. Discuss...

Post by DB10GOONER »

Would you welcome them? Even Nic? :?

I would. We need experienced quality. Nic may be a bit of a crunt (surrounded by total crunts like his brother and cousin) but he IS quality.

Martins is a bit hot and cold, he's good but not great. Yet...

I think Wenger could develop him into a real talent. 8)

would take either of them, still believe we are short up front, anelkas matured since his scum bag brother got him sold,, but he still has a new club every season so theres still a prob wit attitude,, martins doesnt seem 2 be arsenes type of player but of the 2 id prefer him as i feel aw would make him an even better player

I'd take either (even both!) but would prefer Anelka. I've actually been saying it for a few years and would love to have seen him and Henry up front together. He's added more to his game since he left us and would be able to slot straight in. The reported £10m is a good price for a player of his quality but there's still that doubt about his attitude though.

I would take either of them.We need another striker who is proven at premiership level.Anelka would be my 1st choice. What happens if RVP gets injured?dont even go there.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Anelka. Fuck him.
Martins is a good player, I've rated him since he destroyed us at Highbury a few years back. But I think this could be a really big year for Adebayor and I think he did enough last year to give him another year to progress, but he needs to be more prolific. Edu looks really good to me as well and Bendtner is another option we've needed for a while, probably since Smudge. Lets see what these boys have got before we call for all these new signings, we'll only lose one striker to ACN and can always move Theo up top so we're back to 4 strikers again..and we've got RVP!!
I say wait till Jan, if we're not scoring enough goals, fair play get the chequebook out, but I dont think forwards are what we need to improve. We need genuine width, and balance for the team. Eboue and Rosicky are 2 prime examples of players who can be played wide, but aren't wide players (if that makes sense). We need someone hugging the touchline and giving us an outlet on the outside, rather than moving inside all the time and narrowing the shape of the team..

My opinion?

Be glad to have either.

But think we'll get neither.

Without wishing to sound racialist(ali g aye) but I cant get the old rumours about the ages of the nigerian players out of my mind....probably just b*llsh*t though right ?? Anyway we are all wasting time even thinking about this cos wenger aint buying jack !

Although can't see it happening, would love to see Anelka back playing for us. Natural goalscorer, pace and knows the Arsenal. Not a gamble at all.

After the scouse/chavs show on Sunday they mentioned that Redknapp and other pros who have played with Le Sulk have found him to be a really nice guy. I think the boy has turned into a man. Not even a gamble on the dressing room morale.

Ok he may want to leave Bolton after only a year, but wouldn't you?

Anelka is exactly what this Arsenal team needs with Van Persie dropping back in to Bergkamp's position. Genuine pace, aggression and finishing ability. Anyone who wouldn't have him back because he wanted to leave before had better stop pining after Thierry Henry, because his actions this Summer are very similar (he looked a new man playing for France last night).

I've never rated Martins. I've only ever seen him have one good game - it just happened to be against us at Highbury!

:D :D :P :P

Now who wouldn't ...

Was really puzzled he accepted to go there ... I suspect he probably saw it as a channel back into the prem-league .. and always intended to go after a year.

If his attitude has really changed .. then I reckon he will fit in nicely ... and we can do with his quality ...
