4 days to go before tranfer window close,s

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

2 or 3 in on deadline day would not surprise me at all, remember last year with the BEAST, Willie and Denilson arriving on the last plane :?

coudl you imagine if on transfer deadline day, the papers had this announcement (i do like to fantasise a bit!!):

WENGER SPLASHES THE CASH!!

Arsene Wenger today tied up an incredible triple swoop, completing the 9m transfer of obafemi martins, the 12m capture of SWP and the 30m purchase of brazilian kaka. Wenger also admitted for the first time that he had signed a contract for life, which included a clause allowing david dein to come back as a ball boy.
Arsenal fans were said to be rejoicing on the streets outside ashburton grove. Wenger, famously knowned as a tease to fans, said he got thrills from pretending not to sign anyone.
" the fans have been very patient, but secretly i knew who i wanted and i wanted to make the fans wait a little longer - we need to give other teams a chance before we go onto win the quadruple"

One loony fan remarked: " i cant believe it, 3 signings but the one that did it for me was the capture of dein as ballboy - that was exceptional work".

Wenger also went into detail on what dein would be doing as ballboy: "well we will give him space next to the oppostion dugout, and then when they're least expecting it, he will offer the manager the opportunity of a takeover from mr Kroenke".

Another sppechless fan said: "..."
whilst another summed it up in one sentance: "i also had faith in the board, and mr wneger, and knew we head money to spend and it was just a matter of time before we spent it".

To follow on along the lines of the comments from Ram, I too believe we wont sign anybody for another 2 or 3 years but hey its ok everybody because the mob known as the rose tinted crew tell us that we have to accept that we wont be challenging for the next few years but then the ground will shake, the volcanos will erupt and the sky will go bright red as the mighty Arsenal return to once again dominate the world. Either that or by the time we do sign anybody again we will be a struggling mid table side like the mighty top 4 tottengham

i'm clinging to the hope that wenger is waiting for us to seal our place in the champion$ leauge on wednesday night , and once that extra income is guaranteed he will sign a player . i honestly think with anelka in a arsenal shirt we can be title contenders . Apparently Dudu can play on the left wing so that will sort out some of our width issues until we sign a proper winger in the jan transfer window .
