CREST FALLEN!!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

CREST FALLEN!!!

Post by Step »

I know the current Arsenal crest is poor and not a patch on the classic canon/canon balls and Green turf image but my top 3 worst crests are:

1. Stoke City. - Red and white stripes with Stoke City FC on it. How unimaginative

2. Fulham- FFC For Gods sake what happened to their classic crest?

3.Bolton Wanderers- More of the same re Fulham Style letter badge.

How can clubs allow this to happen and why are there not more protests from shirt buying fans?

Arsenal,s curerent one is very poor but marginally better than the above.

Credit to Chelsea, Spurs (sick, sick) Birmingham, Everton for retaining original style designs.

Oh for a return to our crest of the late 80s or 71!!!

Tottenham's is a chicken standing on a cricket ball, don't see how you can get worse than that!

Oh, Bolton's is pretty crap. The B has been forced into a circle so looks more like:

AW
FC

I like our new badge.

Clean, crisp and bold.

Shame the cannon is facing the wrong way, though.

But ASDA are actually doing a tube of Crest for £1 at the moment. I picked up a tube last week. And I've been minty fresh ever since. 8)

Seriously IHH? Are you telling the tooth? Scandalous that is, I feel like popping up there now, finding the manager and filling him in.

'Ee by gum', that might be a tad rash!!! If you did hit the Asda manager, you'd probably get arrested and have a stain on your character. You wouldn't be able to easily brush it under the carpet by saying you were irritated!!!

Unless, in your defence, you claim to be a bit unhinged and had a screw loose - in which case they'll probably put you in F Block or another of the dental wards. Not the feather in your cap you might think!!! Deep down you know that to be false!!!

To crown it all off, you'll feel so ashamed with being stigmatized as a nutter that you're likely to end up jumping of a bridge due to the ridicule you'd have brought on your family name. Not a palatable thought, that.

Well at least I'd end up at the pearly gates that way.

I'd be confident of getting off in court though, a defence of false identity plus a good drilling from my brief should sway the jury. They'll be scraping the prosecution brief off the floor I reckon.

In that case, you'll need an injection of cash to pay for a top lawyer. After all, we don't want any old numb nuts, do we? If you win the case, I'm sure there will be a plaque in your honour!!!
