Gallas situation ... sums up Arsenal perfectly

Post by PI7ES »

Gallas has had a great season yet is most likely to leave on a free because our fucking stupid board and manager will only offer him a one year deal. Give him the length of contract he wants, we need all the experience we can get.

We lost pires and gilberto to this fucking stupid deal and look how bad that cost us. Seriously over our management and board atm :banghead:

Yes Peter and it has worked perfectly well for Silvestre too!

i wouldn't say losing pires or gilberto when we did was a problem, both past it by then...but your right about gallas.

They were both still good enough squad players that could come off the bench and influence games. Gilberto is still better than denilson now.

Still better than what we have. I'd have killed to have Pires for another 2 or 3 seasons.

Pires was past his best deffo - but I'd have him in midfield ahead of Theo, Denilson, Song, Eboue, Ramsey, Nasri and Rosicky any day. They all could have learned alot from him in training too.

Gilberto was waaaaay past his best a year before we let him go.

If Gallas goes then Wenger will have to buy someone, hopefully a 6 foot plus central defender that can fucking defend. unlikely i know but i can dream

I can't agree with you on Pires, he may have been slightly past his best, but he's still playing well for Villareal, and anyway, his experience that he could have passed onto the youngsters would have been invaluable imo.

Anyway, Wenger dismissed his 1 year contract stance, for over 30's when he signed the geriatric, that is Silvestre.

I think we let Gilberto go at the right time, but i feel we could have got another couple of seasons out of Pires, he was a class player, even if he had lost a tiny bit of pace. But you cant blame him for leaving if only offered one year, when he was offered a longer contract at another decent side, a player like that wants a bit of security for the future

I think we should offer Gallas two years

Was it really worth selling gilberto for 1mil? surely for that small fee he was worth keeping. I know his wages were high but stop p[aying the youngsters so much and keep our experience

How fucking dare you compare Pires unfavorably with that useless chav bastard in any context whatsoever, are you old enough to even remember the sublime Robert Pires.
I don't hurl personal insults on this forum but I'm pretty close to breaking that rule, after what must be the most ludicrous post I have ever fucking read. :banghead: :banghead:
