Would Dein make any difference to AW's transfer policy? -1/9

Would Dein make any difference to AW's transfer policy? -1/9

usual thread starter… There doesn’t seem any doubt that Arsene has chosen not to spend more than he has this summer. Dein believes Arsenal need to spend big to keep up. Arsene obviously doesn’t. All superstar players start out as prospects with potential. The challenge for the Wenger way is to spot enough of them in the early part of their careers to not have to splash the cash. His success will be judged on how well Arsenal do this season as he made a choice not to buy big names. Do you believe Arsene’s right or is David Dein?

I wish we had got another left winger I suppose Clichy, Hleb, Dudu and Walcott can play there or some cm play there in an emergency, nowhere near ideal but I suppose Arsene hasn't found the right man for the right price this time. With Diarra to act as covering holding player, the rest of the squad, for me, I believe s fine and we can make a title challenge though I accept others are less convinced.

Money is great to have but Arsene, for me, knows what is doing and Dein can go away, we have the money so unless he wants to sack the manager so someone will spend big. I back Arsene over Dein.

I sit on the fence on this one ...

On the one hand, I firmly believe in backing AW and anyone he has playing for him (including the famously picked on players: song, flamini, eboue, senderos) ... because I believe its a game of 11 Vs 11, and much relies on the confidence and maturity of the players .. so, I dont worshop big-name signings or get scared of a team b/c they have a lot of big names ... I believe we have enoiugh quality to win the league, but will need to rely plenty of luck (with injuries, etc) to do so ...

On the other hand, I felt a pressing and urgent need for a aerially-dorminat centre back (like a vidic, alex, terry) ... perhaps, if threw in a couple of natural wingers (like queresma, robben, etc), and an accomplished striker we would certainly have become invisible again ... I am not sure AW could have purchased all these new talent with the money he had to spend ... So, I do believe we need extra investments for players, but not desparately so ...
