Do we have it???

Without wantin to state the obvious, the current hot topic of some very heated debates is whether we are good enough or strong enough, to come thru a long season with some silverware to show for it, even if it is just a cup or something!
Even tho there has been some excellent and more to the point, valid concerns raised about our perceived lack of depth and quality I can't help feeling that we definately have something and we are going to be hard to beat!
What we may have to get used to and is probably the reason for so much pessimism lately, is that this is not going to be done, this season, as it has in the past, by blowing teams away but because the kids have grown up in this league they are learning how to be dogged - no Stan the 'Man' jokes please
I know it's not what some want to hear but this mentality is exactly what I wanted to see, cos it's been missing since we had that perfect blend of the English players left over from the GG era and the technical superior foreign talent and IMO is the foundation AW has realised is neccessary to build his third great side!

i guess so far so good in the dogged department,, we hav gained points so far where last season we would hav drawn them, guess its easy this summer what with our lack of spending for the pessimism to grab hold of us,, we hav been listening for two years about our young squad to come good and while i still feel the team is to lightweigh overall to win the league i can see very good team spirit and camradrie , but alas that can only carry us so far,, guess wel know a lot more in a month or so where we stand, i hope for all or sakes that aw can create aother great arsenal team,, VICTORIA CONCORDIA CRESCIT

Yes Rebel that's why I know it's not what some want to hear because we keep talking about the future but as AW said today we have taken a different route to success and he is in no doubt at all that the only way a club can be successful in the long term is thru it's own resources and he is actually showing signs of being openly suspicious of DD's vision of massive investment to make Arsenal the world's premier club!
I mean it's probably fair enough to say that ManUre and Real are probably the two biggest merchandising and highest profile clubs in the world yet if it hadn't been for some extremely creative accounting from their local govt. Real were in very real danger of sinking without trace, I remember very well Taggart in the papers after the news broke clearly ragin that what he seen then as his main rival to Euro domination had been subsidised and in fact well and truly baled out to the tune of well over £200M and it's ironic that it's now the Mancs themselves who are staring over the financial precipice!
So there's no doubt that we are suffering some pain at the moment but isn't that nearly always the route to success, it's no secret that DD likes to move in powerful circles and it's pretty clear to me that he has always wanted total control of the club rather than actual shares in it and could well be the reason he has done a deal with Usmanov, he gets to be Chairman and our Russian friend buys instant trust and respectability by his association!

madrid been bailed i remember,, that was a disgrace at the time,, still is,, be glad we dont hav a club in england like this,,i take ur point bout winning ugly amid with a bit more bite,, maybe just maybe,, guess im a pessimist when it comes to our present but an optimist whemn it comes 2 our future, its down to the fact that we,v been hearing for last 2 seasons about our potential,, things are never straighforward at the club we love and can imagine its going to be an interesting season on and off the pitch, i spend sat watching first liverpool and then man u both live and while man u are struggling a bit i must admit lfc were impressive,, derby i know but they had a bench which we dont,, still win 2day and we are on same points as them so i,l keep the faith,.
