Good news regarding Robin Van Persie!
Arsenal's Robin van Persie may return to action in early April, according to Netherlands boss Bert van Marwijk.
Arsenal estimate that the 26-year-old striker could be back from ankle ligament surgery at the end of April.
But having spoken to Van Persie on the phone, Van Marwijk is more optimistic about his return from an injury sustained in November.
"I hope that he will play at the beginning of April and he feels this is may be possible," said Van Marwijk.
"You can hear it in his voice that he feels he is improving."
Van Persie was in fine form for club and country before he suffered an ankle ligament injury 10 minutes into an international friendly with Italy on 14 November.
Wenger had given the player a new role as central striker in a front three and the move was paying dividends for the north London side.
The striker, who joined Arsenal for a fee in the region of £3m from Feyenoord in 2004, had scored eight goals in 16 matches in all competitions.
But his season was cut short in Italy and after initial placenta fluid treatment with specialist Mariana Kovacevic, he went on to have ankle surgery in Amsterdam.
Last week, Arsene Wenger pencilled in the end of April as the probable return date for his star striker - provided his rehabilitation continued to go to plan.
"If you ask me is it the beginning of April, I would say categorically no because he has not started any real fitness work yet," Wenger told Arsenal's website.
But the Dutch striker's international manager is more upbeat.
Van Marwijk stated: "I spoke to him on the phone last week and he is improving all the time and feeling better."
Arsenal physios are set to travel to Holland in the coming weeks to check on their player's progress.
Both Arsenal and the Netherlands will welcome his return given the upcoming Premier League title run-in and impending World Cup finals in June.
Van Marwijck added: "He is a very important player for me so it is very important for me that he is fit."

So let me get this straight -
* Robin van Persie gets injured playing for Holland in a f**king meaningless friendly, designed only to squeeze more cash out of fans.
* Robin van Persie misses the majority of Arsenal's season, costing us dearly.
* Robin van Persie will be fit for the World Cup, boosting Holland's chances.
* Robin van Persie's wages are not paid by the Dutch Football Federation.
* Robin van Persie's wages are paid by Arsenal.
How is any of that good news for Arsenal??
Arsenal need to start telling Holland, England, France etc. to f**k off when it comes to releasing our players for these shite mid-season friendlies!!

Re: Good news regarding Robin Van Persie!
How the hell can he work out that he'll be back earlier on the basis of a phonecall in which Van Persie sounded well?
What a bastard.
What a bastard.
