Nigel De Jong

Post by AFCWozza »

The bloke is a first class wanker. After what we've witnessed in the last few years with injuries he comes out with a horror tackle, break Holden from Bolton's leg, then comes out and says.. “such offences are part of football. I went for the ball and got the opponent at the end. I had no evil intent. If the ball is between me and the opponent, you have to go in full. If you do not then the opponent takes you. And if you’re scared in a game you get injured yourself.â€

It wasnt as bad as Shawcross' or Martin Taylor's tackle, we have to be careful these things will happen in football unless we want to make it a non contact sport..... Its difficult to see from that video but looks like he went for the ball to me :?

Really mate? You'll have to watch these angles, it is nothing less than a shocking challenge, a LEG BREAKING challenge, and the wanker doesnt even care what he's done, thats not 50-50, its high on the leg, its not even in front of the ball.

I agree that camera shot looks awful but thats probably half a second after the ball has gone. Not saying its good to break legs but i dont think every tackle is meant to break bones..... We have to be careful Gallas tackle against Bolton was worse? and wasnt much made of it here apart from happiness we dished some out :?

I agree with you flash. nobody wants to see the tackle disappear from the game, and i can assure you i LOVE a good old fashioned tackle, but when players LUNGE, with studs showing, and catch people have way up there shins, something MUST be wrong with the tackle, theres a fine line but far too many players believe its acceptable to cross it, and im afraid until something is done we will see more and more horrific injuries

Flash,

I think it's more a reaction to the reaction over Shawcross. The De Jong challenge was a red card offence as was Gallas as neither needed to go over the top of the ball.

I believe the reaction on here to Gallas challenge was more to do with the years and years of Bolton comitting those kind of fouls against us. I believe in 2003 even Jay Jay Okacha comitted an over the top challenge. So it was more in reaction to that and Bolton not caring, plus the treatment of Cesc the game before at the Reebok.

Also compare the reaction in the press to the Gallas challenge to the reaction to the Shawcross tackle and its understandable that on this subject of over the top challenges feelings are running high and we fill slightly victimised by the varying reactions

De Jong's a lovely lad and hasn't got it in him to go out and hurt some one.

He's deverstated. He's mum came and drove him home.

All and Citeh and the Holland National team are rallying around Nigel during this difficult period.....
As a bittersweet luck he's been called up to play for Man Citeh this weekend.

As for Holden well, he was just unlucky.
