ARSENALS TRADITIONS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

ARSENALS TRADITIONS

Post by REB »

THE OLD BANK OF ENGLAND CLUB AND THERE TRADITIONS,, DO WE STAY IN THE PAST OR SAY TRADITION IS RUBBISH,, LIKE THE ONE THAT SAYS WATHEVER SHIRT THE CAPTAIN WEARS ( long sleeve shirt then everyone must wear the same or the one that says every cup final we get to the keeper must wear an old shirt cos in 1927 the ball skipped off our keepers new shirt for a goal v cardiff )me, i liked the old marble halls and stuff 8)

I like the traditions and how people always talk about " The Arsenal Way" and all that and the way we do things but unfortunately we have to move with the times if we want to succeed. Thats not to say we cant have some of the old morals. The long sleeve/ short sleeve story William Gallas says he likes short sleeves so the players are out of luck. If that the case then wear long sleeves and you can roll em up Willy ! As for the 1927 goalkeeping jersey story I would have thought of something up too if I let that goal in ! I wished they would have put the clock back inside the stadium too instead of on the outside but it looks like now the club have a deal with Ebel watches so thats not going to happen.

I like tradition and the 'Arsenal Way', just because the stadium has changed doesn't mean the clubs history has, bring Back Percy Dalton I say!

The traditions are one of the great things about the club, we're different to the chavs and spuds of this world, it's called class, something they can only dream about.

Good lads, our tradition is something we should be proud of and cherish cos it is the ONLY thing left in football (and that includes the FA) that money cannot buy!

Bring that back
They were suppose to be ones around the stands in the last season at Highbury but that never happened in the East Upper, did anyone have them near them if they were around

Gallas said in a Arsenal mag that he likes the fact that Arsenal is different & when he first came last year he was amazed by the fact that the captain choose the shirts (as pointed out by Rebel first)
He goes on saying that he likes wearing s/s tops & that he change his ways for no one since becoming captain, "Prehaps the players will not be so pleased with me because i always like to play in short sleeves, even in the winter. If you are cold it makes you run more"
Highbury was special & unique because of the different places around the ground, the crests around the Mable Halls etc
The Emirates is a place where at the moment there is no telling what stand is which as they are all the same with every likeness nearly but t the old ground there was the Clock End, East Stand, West & North Bank thats everyone knew off
I hope that the future will bring in even more traditions & that like the early days off Highbury that it will extend (improve the transport etc & we can talk on that) & that it will be special for all the future Gooners that go along to the Grove

It's needs to be inside where it belongs
Have it on the corner of the 'South Stand' which hasn't got a screen on it
It's wasting away with no time on it, oh it's 12 o clock at Arsenal tats why there's so many early kick offs  lol
