Hotels on the Seven Sisters Road

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hotels on the Seven Sisters Road

Post by DB10GOONER »

The hotel we usually stay in (The Pembury) on the seven sisters is booked out for the Derby Co game.

Have any other travelling Gooners stayed in any of the 5 million  hotels on the seven sisters (Finsbury Park tube stop end)? Are there any you'd recommend? The Pembury was basic (cheap and cheerful) but it was clean and very handy to the ground and the Pins etc. Jury's Islington and the Hilton do good rates for overnighters but they are WAAAAAAAYYYY too far to stagger back to pissed up.

Any recommendations?

DB10

There's one just past the Barn, opposite the park, which is quite decent, however you may have got one on seven sisters piss cheap and also from finsbury to the Barn is an uphill slog!

WAAAAAAAYYYY too far to stagger back to pissed up.

Admittedly I don't know much about the area, but for a lot cheaper couldn't you just sleep ON the Seven Sisters Road?

I mean, you will be drunk...

Haha nice one RaM...he wouldn't have to worry about losing his dignity as that's the last we'd hear of him!

An interesting suggestion, RaM.

Abandon wife and kids, go to London, spend a fortune on footy trip/piss up with bro, sleep on street, tramp style.

I like it!!  8)

Got a feeling with the wat things are in London at the mo. if you slept on the streets round there you might end up being a gooner in heaven :)

What about The Marriot  - bit further to go I know, but it seems to hold some very good memories for many Gooners and from what I hear you can almost guarantee there'll be absolutely no Spuds :D

There is one directly opposite the Pins on the Seven Sisters Rd, £25 per night I think but it erm.......how can I put this politely......does'nt look like the most luxurious hostelry in the world :? Extremely handy for the 12 Pins tho but you'd have to negotiate the busy rd after a skinful

We`ll stay at Kent Hall a bit further towards Manor House but still walking distance. at 25 pounds a night it`s not luxury but who cares it`s just for 2 nights

Thanks lads. 8)

I bit the bullet and booked the Hilton Islington!!! :?

Actually I got a fairly good deal for a twin room for one night - £140 between two of us - that's about €220, which is a bit more than we usually pay. Only real negative is it's a good hike away from the Grove, so the robbing hackney-driving b*stards are in for a few quid that night.

Although, it is right beside the Angel tube stop... :|

And the bar is open til 1am. And there is 24 hour alcohol (oops!) room service... :P

BTW; Apologies to any decent honest hackney drivers on here, but in Ireland 90% of them are thieving crunts...
