usual thread starter… Let’s face it, if Arsenal are going to compete for the honours, they can’t play like angels. The memory might play tricks, but I have a feeling that in seasons when we had more red cards, we tended to win things. So if sides want to play dirty against our boys, they have to expect a bit of their own medicine as the Gunners fight for their right to play.

You are all right. We had zero protection from officials last season (so what's new?) and whilst I want the 'new Arsenal' to play it hard - get in there Cesc
- I would hate them to become anywhere near thugs like Repka. I think from what we've seen so far this young team can 'strike' the right balance.

hear hear. magic .. we need steel (plenty of it -- hence my username), but we are above scum like bruiseburn and the w*nker repka (rhymes tooMagic Hat wrote:Angels, no, we have to be able to play hard but we must not be a Blackburn or a Repka, keep within the rules.

if english refs insist on not protecting our players from teams who would rather play kungfu than football, we have to learn to roll with them and give a much as we get .. but within reasonable limits of the law ...
