Sol's Influence

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sol's Influence

Post by RossieGooner »

Does anyone else feel that we have shown alot more steel and resolve since Sol came back? I was personally delighted when he re-signed as i felt we badly lacked a title run-in hardened person both in the dressing room and on the training ground, even if he wasnt going to play too many games. The fact he is getting games and playing reasonably well is a bonus. For the same reasons i would have been pleased if PV4 had came back, even to play at centre half if required. Cesc is no doubt a great player, but i dont think he is a great leader of men - yet.

I cannot help but think of the reaction of the boys after Aaron got done against Stoke compared to the reaction and subsequent league collapse when Eddie got done 2 years ago. I think it has a lot to do with Sol somehow...

Loved seeing him give it to the goalie tonight and when Al had the temerity to answer back he got both barrels!

Sol is a fighter and winner always!! Though he was a bit shaky in these 2-3 games, do we have a better center back when Gallas is injured? Silvestre? No thank you!!

I like Sol, i think he has been a decent addition to our side.

However, he sometimes appears a bit clumsy, slow and prone to mistake. I'm dreading a very costly error from him in one of our crucial away matches. His true test begins here and hopefully he proves me wrong.

My point is more bout his influence off the field rather than on it. I agree with u that he might be prone to make a big miistake on the field at some stage - hope am wrong though.

yeah, off the field and in terms of morale boosting, spirit, mental strength and encouragement to the younger players he has been a good signing.

Did anyone else feel the tremor when Sol fell over late in the game. He's got the biggest legs I've ever seen. A majestic figure. The 8th wonder of the world.
