Away Credits - 2010/11 Season
I have it on good authority from a source in the Box Office that the Club are looking to up the ticket-buying ranges next season. This is in light of the increased demand for away tickets, and therefore the fact that a lot more people have a lot more credits.
It is currently being considered introducing a 35+ and 30+ buying period.
I'm not sure whether it will affect too many people on here, but please be aware anyway.
Ta.

I think the period over which you can earn the points should be shorter. At the moment, once you get to, say, 25+ its too easy to stay there. All you need to do then is buy about 10 tickets per season and you keep at that level.
I think it should be on a rolling 12 months....
I also think its a bit of a joke that the club know that a huge number of tickets are bought as favours for mates and yet people (me included) still end up earning the credits.
And I know a couple of blokes with away season tickets who go to less games than me.....yet they are guaranteed tickets for every match! Ok, so they have the hastle of selling on those that they don't want....but its a hell of a perk!

Disagree..but i understand your point.
i went to every away game for around 10-12 years and this is when Arsenal were not the team they are today...i now go to around 4-10 away games per season. me and many members with a bucket load of credits have done our time and showed real, real loyalty before the wenger years and good football. i think you have to go 3-4 away games per season to keep ur credits. (thats only fair)
I don't agree you should only need to go to 3 or 4 to maintain your credits. You think its fair that someone could go to chelsea, united, spurs and barcelona and maintain their high away credits every season!?
I know a lot of people who have been going arsenal for decades but that shouldn't mean they can still pick and choose their games freely every season.
I think it makes obvious sense to introduce higher credit levels for the big games otherwise people who go to every single away game could miss out on a big one if there are thousands with over 25 credits.
The only problem with the system regards people who wanna start going to away ones regularly. Closing travel club applications seems a bit crazy

whatever system you introduce would be unfair to somebody, i have a full set of away creidts and although im not on the away ticket scheme it was touch and go for me when we only got 850 for AZ this season.
You can see where the club are coming from by increasing the away points allocation, it stands to reason that people will buy an away credit just to boost their tally.
I guess a good indicator will be where the club start for the ticket allocation for the up and coming spuds game ?
In general in think the club do very little in policing tickets, you only have to stand outside Arsenal tube station to work that out .

Interesting thread - Obvious solution.
If the club do exactly what they are proposing and start selling at 35+ credits using the same (two previous season plus this one) criteria, people who already have the credits will be happy but those who are genuine new comers but loyal away fans will quickly pass those who only go to 4/5 away games aseason.
For example someone who had 25+ credits will typically need to go to around 8/9 games a season to maintain that level but someone who goes to ALL away games in a season (normally at least 25) will quickly pass them and benefit from the 35+ credit selling.
I get sick of people complaining about ticket allocations. I absolutely agree with 'Twitch' on 'fishal about Fulham at home. I am one of those with 25+ away credits who despite young family commitments manages to maintain that level and attends every home game (unless my wife is giving birth!!!!) . Anyone who really wants to attend away games can very, very quickly (over the course of two seasons) reach 25+ level.

Away credits 2010/2011
How about the club setting aside a small amount of tickets for those fans who live in another part of the country who want to go to watch Arsenal play locally. For example, I live in the NW and it took me 3 seasons to build up enough credits to go to watch Arsenal at Liverpool and Man Utd. The club have all the members address details so it shouldn't be too hard to manage.
It could also help prevent people buying tickets for friend who don't have enough credits. For example, I could buy tickets for all the London games because I have enough credits yet sell them on to someone who lives in London but who doesn't have enough credits. So, the system would work in reverse. It will all go to ensure that as many people who will go to the match will get there.

Nos - it is hard to have simpathy with your position when you live in the NW and it is easier for you to attend away games than it is for us in the South East.
You have easy access to Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn and now Burnley and access to NE and Birmingham is easier from NW than it is from SE.
If I were you, I woudl be careful what you wish for - the system is set up for you now!!!

Are the Away Scheme and the fabled 'Arsenal Travel Club' the best ways of getting tickets for Away matches? Could someone write a definitive answer as to how to join either scheme and what they involve, plus costs? I'm a Red but love away games more than home ones, but all I get are scraps really (e.g. severely restricted view at AnfieldThierry Fabregas wrote:Anyone who really wants to attend away games can very, very quickly (over the course of two seasons) reach 25+ level.

You're right I am totally set up for it, I wasn't after sympathy, I was just pointing out a flaw in the system that can be tweeked and may benefit others who are not in the same position as me yet still want to go to games. I am very fortunate that there are 8 away matches I'm guarantteed to go to. All I want now is portsmouth, sunderland and hull to go down with blackpool, preston and notts forest to come up, then I'm well sorted
