Is there an incident or decision that STILL pisses you off?
You know what I mean.
It might be an incident involving a player or a refereeing decision that, while they may not have led to anything significant, still gets your back up long after they have been swept away into the history books.
I generally have an appalling memory but the one that somehow still pisses me off is Chris Sutton for Blackburn at the end of the 96-97 season.
For those who don't know, Arsenal still (I think) had an outside chance of the title and played Blackburn at home towards the end of the season. Arsenal winning, approaching the last minute and Arsenal player goes down near our own penalty area at the Clock End. Blackburn player throws the ball back towards the corner flag where Winterburn is expecting to collect the ball without challenge (as is normal when giving the ball back) and distribute it upfield. Before he can get hold of the ball, Sutton (who was a real asshole) chases him down towards the bye-line and forces Nigel to give a corner away. Vieira and Winterburn confront Sutton. Blackburn score from resulting corner in injury time.
I think this is roughly what happened
Just gets my back up!

That fucking match still makes my blood boil!! which of our players was through on goal when he was taken out by one of the mancs?? It was a sending off offense yet somehow he got away with it! And that fat inbred prick Roonney celebrating when the mancs were awarded a penalty for his dive! C*nt!RocastleRock wrote:Has too be 49 games un-beaten until that fat twat wayne roony took a dive and the ref gave manure a pen which ended the run!!! comfortable 0-0 was on the cards... that pen then made us have to attack which resulted in another goal... Bastards.... it had too be them didnt it... still hurts..

As soon as I saw the thread title I new right away which match STILL makes my blood boil and it's when Freddie knocked it past Ferdinand who was last man and surprised by our No.8's change of pace and knowing that he'd been done, and Freddie was clean thru he just took him out, the ball was about 10ft away and there wasn't another player in sight, yet that completely useless prat, Mike Riley didn't do a f**kin thing other than completely bottle it!GoonerJim wrote:That fucking match still makes my blood boil!! which of our players was through on goal when he was taken out by one of the mancs?? I mean as far as the pen goes, refs will always miss those, especially incompetent ones like Norman Riley, but the only excuse for missing that incident is that it was ManUre at OT and it was made even worse by the fact, that Ferdinand went on to get MOTM, and ManU proved their status as the No.1 club in the land, by the same method as they managed to play at OT for 8 years without havin a penalty awarded against them

There are quite a few that still piss me off and I was also going to say Rooneytwat's dive because I HATE that crunt so much, so off the top of my head;
The pillock ref that sent off Mad Jens in the CL final, killing the game as a spectacle and devestating me in the process
. He should have only booked him or even let the goal stand. I felt on the night we would have beaten them with 11 men out there
.
Worse, he even admitted afterwards that he got it wrong the f*cking card happy spanner...
I still have nightmares about that game. So close, yet so far.... I waited 34 years for that trophy....

Can't remember the fella's name now, but the guy who attacked Van Persie as he scored in our 3-1 fa cup win at against Blackbur about 2 years ago. First of all the guy who did it, then the gutless FA who reviewed the incident but wouldn't take any action because it wasnt clear whether there was intention. It was the most blatent babyish thuggery of being beaten so I'll hurt the gu. You dont run and jump elbow first into a player long after the ball is gone by accident. Even if the ball was at RVP's feet you still wouldn't challenge like that.
I still get wound up thinking about that.
