Players I think We need next Summer

Post by Jason_arsenal2010 »

Here's what I think we need to do win silveware next season (I am not going to say buy Villa, Dzeko, Chilleni because I know wenger wont buy any of them)

Chamak will sign for free so that solves our attacking crisis (if you can call it that)

Our midfield has too many young options so maybe adding an old wise head wont be a bad option maybe bring back Vieira.
But we do need a cover for SOng for me Denilson is more a CM than a DM player

Defense is where we really have to focus on Thomas Vermaelen has been awesome, Djourou will be a good addition, If Norvedit is not ready then keep Sol on temporary basis for another year, Stefan Savic looks like he will also sign and that leaves us with needing one more player someone tall, strong and in their prime.
So our 5 Cbs next summer should be - Vermaelen, Djourou, Sol/Norvedit, Stefan, ?
I know people here think we win go Boateng or Bonnuci but I would rather go for a player arsenal were linked last year named Servet Cetin. He's 29, very strong and he wants to play even when injured.
I would even love to see someone like Hangeland but I doubt Fullham leting go of him

I think we all agree we need a new keeper Almunia just doesn't cut it for me and Fabianski has been a big big disapppointment for the last 2 years so I say cut our losses and buy someone like Aginfeev or Neur and sell Fabianski but keep Almunia you need leadership for this young team

So in my view we should add
Chamak - Free
Vieira - Free
Stefan - 1-2 million
Hangleand/ Setin / Boateng - 10-12 million
Goalkeeper - Igor, Neur - 10 million

that what 25 million for 5 players you can't do better than that

Players who can leave next summer
Gallas - Free
Silvestre - Free
Sendros - Free
Fabiabski - 3-5 million
Eduardo - 7-8 million (I know he broke a leg for us and Wenger will probably keep him for another year but he hasn't even been a shadow of his former self)

his presense in the team is enough, did you imagine sol being in our team now at 35-36.
Vieira is just 33 and I thought he did really well against Burnley and he wont week in and week out just when Song is injured.

Big Difference, sol is a center back who can hold his possition and doesnt rely on his pace or legs getting around the pitch. Vieira is a midfielder who needs to run constantly, he is to slow to reach the player to make a tackle.

We need to add real quality not go back to our old past it superstars, now if you had said yaya toure who is sitting on barca's bench every week then i would agree.

I think you're forgetting this is wenger we are talking about and he knows that we have players like Eastmond, Coquellin and Frimpong coming through our ranks for the defensive midfield position
I would love to see Tore but can you really see wenger splashing cash for him. I think if Melo is available he will go for him because he's a known admirer of Melo.

So you want to get rid of Gallas? Why?

I think he would signed a contract if he wanted to by now and their are rumours that Roma has offered him a three year deal
Gallas has no loyalty to Arsenal and if he get a better offer for Roma he will choose them over us.
I think gallas and Vermaelen are a good pairing against low and mid table teams but if you play strong, tall talented striker against them they always get found out

Hmmm, you make him sound like we're buying him, or he'll be like signing a new player anyway when he comes back from injury :? :? :?

he hasn't played for us this enitre year so yeah he is like a new signing also what do you guys think of him? Do you guys thinks he's ready to play week in and week out alongside Vermaelen? I think he has had some very good games and some averge games but when wenger game him a 6 year contract (wiki) that shows that he has a lot of trust in the Djourou ability.
personally I am not so sure

Not sure about djourou has shon he is great in some games then not so great in others, like alot of our players. Far to injury prone to be relied on to be first choice.

I think he has had a nigling injury which has been taken care of now just like Walcott. I hope he will be injury free for a long time to come

Hello, Mr Wenger....

All joking aside, when Djourou first came into the side I thought he was going to be a top player, he's got all the attributes to be one, although has a tendancy to switch off in games from time to time.

Injuries have obviously blunted his progress, and I for one, would be willing to give him another season or so, especially if he gets a good pre-season in, in readiness for next season.
