Confirmed on Friday, I'm going to be a dad again at 46

We are delighted as we were told it was very unlikely that we would be able to have another child after Wee Paul was born almost 10 years ago.

Out of interest, how old are you MIG? Don't rush into anything, mate! Trust me, kids are the greatest thing that will happen to you in your life but they will also TOTALLY change your lifestyle! My advice is wait until you are at least 30 before having kids. Enjoy your twenties, you only get them once!merson_is_god wrote:Nice one mate! So jealous I want to have kid but i will have to wait another couple of years hopefully, going to ask my girlfriend to move in with me soon, then propose!
Congratations again mate!

I love my kids more than life itself and wouldn't trade them for anything but one of the things I miss the most about the early days with my missus (before we had the kids) was the ability to just fuck off somewhere at the drop of a hat.flash gunner wrote:Well said mate, kids are the greatest gift ever but wait there is no need to rush in. Agree my daughter is everything to me but the single life or couple side of life shouldnt be missed or under-estimatedDB10GOONER wrote:I love my kids more than life itself and wouldn't trade them for anything but one of the things I miss the most about the early days with my missus (before we had the kids) was the ability to just fuck off somewhere at the drop of a hat.flash gunner wrote:Well said mate, kids are the greatest gift ever but wait there is no need to rush in. I'd often ring her from work lunchtime Friday, tell her to pack a bag for each of us and meet me in Dublin airport, and away we'd go for the weekend to London or Paris or Galway or Belfast or wherever we wanted. That feeling of spontaneity was just great.
Now days it costs alot more and involves alot more planning to do anything. Still, wouldn't change it for the world though!
Exactly! eg we have already our summer hols booked for this year, and this will be our last for a few years at least.DB10GOONER wrote:I love my kids more than life itself and wouldn't trade them for anything but one of the things I miss the most about the early days with my missus (before we had the kids) was the ability to just fuck off somewhere at the drop of a hat.flash gunner wrote:Well said mate, kids are the greatest gift ever but wait there is no need to rush in.
