TINY GOONER SID ON WAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

TINY GOONER SID ON WAY

Post by goonersid »

Basement I know but!
Confirmed on Friday, I'm going to be a dad again at 46  Wife is 13 Weeks, had a scan on Friday and all looks good.
We are delighted as we were told it was very unlikely that we would be able to have another child after Wee Paul was born almost 10 years ago.

My mate is in a similar situation, 43 years old, got two kids aged 23 and 15 and now years later another on the way.

Out of interest, how old are you MIG? Don't rush into anything, mate! Trust me, kids are the greatest thing that will happen to you in your life but they will also TOTALLY change your lifestyle! My advice is wait until you are at least 30 before having kids. Enjoy your twenties, you only get them once!

I love my kids more than life itself and wouldn't trade them for anything but one of the things I miss the most about the early days with my missus (before we had the kids) was the ability to just fuck off somewhere at the drop of a hat.

I'd often ring her from work lunchtime Friday, tell her to pack a bag for each of us and meet me in Dublin airport, and away we'd go for the weekend to London or Paris or Galway or Belfast or wherever we wanted. That feeling of spontaneity was just great.

Now days it costs alot more and involves alot more planning to do anything. Still, wouldn't change it for the world though!

Exactly! eg we have already our summer hols booked for this year, and this will be our last for a few years at least.
We are also very restricted as far as babysitters are concerned, and a night out together at the weekend is a rarity.
