Diaby last night

Post by Goonanana »

Was anyone else massively disappointed with his performance? I found myself scraming at the tele despite being 2-0 up because he simply didn't seem interested! His tracking back was awful, he only ever seemed to be at a canter, if someone went passed him he simply gave up, he stood off the wingers and did very little going forward!

Now I'm not going to blame him entirely, and I rated him very highly until a few weks ago but now I'm not so sure. The only thing I am sure of is that he is NOT a left winger!! Now if we played him in position in the centre i think I'd have more faith but what also worries me is his tendancy to dive in, I'm nervous that he'll make it through 90- minutes because he seems to leave his feet at least 5 or 6 times and only 2 of them need to be a booking

I can't say I noticed him much and though he tracked back, he still didn't seem to be able to offer much protection to Clichy, didn't think he did that badly. I just wonder if the injury has robbed him off that spark he had when he first played, I just hope he can still make it for us for his sake.

did seem very out of sorts last night...
What must he be thinking though, Fab and Gilberto already 1st choice central midfielders, then he sees Flamini cementing a place and Denilson being used in CM quite a lot too, then we sign Diarra!
Really like the boy, but he never seems to have found his position..cant be an attacking midfielder- the amount of sitters he's missed..and I'm not sure if he has the discipline to be relied on as a defensive midfielder, so its a difficult one..hope to see him start in CM against Newcastle on Tuesday.
