Dopey *word censored* upstairs

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Dopey *word censored* upstairs

Post by Perryashburtongroves »

There's water seeping through my bedroom ceiling and it's caused by some dopey *word censored* doing DIY in the flat above. Anyone got any ideas about what I should do? apart from get a bucket and all that.

if your not renting, ur fucked for the time being.

I would go up there and make him turn his water supply off and call a plumber. As its already leaking you cant do anything now.

Once the leak has stopped, you can paint over it. But be sure the ceiling is dry before you do, and use de stainer first otherwise stain will show through paint.

If it is a small leak on a plaster celing, you should be fine but if it is sagging, then you will need to re plaster.

Go up and see the dopeys.

Tell them about the damage. Ask if they want to pay cash to repair/repaint it. Or if they want to go through their insurance.

You could always pitch a tent in your bedroom, and just pretend your outdoors and it's raining? :?

And hey, snuggling up to your loved one in a sleeping bag might even rekindle the romance in your marriage... assuming you're married, of course. Oh, and assuming it needs rekindling.

Thanks for the advice, gents. Apparently, a nail had gone through a pipe and started the leak. It's now stopped, the tent didn't need to come out and the dopeys are going to get a plasterer and painter in for us.

Enjoy your weekends!

Good job you got it all sorted! :barscarf:

We had a leak in our living room a few weeks ago, it was a massive leak and the ceiling fell in, leaving a hole the size of half our ceiling and completely soaking the carpet, and ruining pretty much everything in the room! Luckily we have two front rooms and it was the one we use less, still bloody annoying though!

All sorted through the insurance, ceiling back up, new equipment bought, just need to slap some paint on the walls and ceiling, which im doing tomorrow morning, then the new carpet laid next week! Lovely! :barscarf:
