aaron lennon

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

spot on, mr tyers .. he is over-rated on a huge scale ...

I decided this after watching him play during the run up of england matches towards the last world cup ... I thought he was too one-dimensional and easy to source out by defenders ...

He has pace and sometimes gets in a good cross, his superb 2006 world cup was due to him being a sub against tired legs, not due to his leetness that would help Spurs get ahead of Arsenal

was arguing the point with a mate last night..
My case was:

No left foot
Cant cross a ball
Low goal tally's
No tricks

for a winger I see not a lot more than electric pace..
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh and he will improve with age but I really dont buy into this hype about the boy as if he's the next Ryan Giggs..

DISAGREE WITH YOU LOT ON THIS ONE. I KNOW AS FANS IT'S IN-BUILT TO HATE OUR RIVAL'S PLAYERS BUT THAT SHOULDN'T BLIND US TO THEIR TRUE ABILITIES.

I THINK LENNON, ALTHOUGH FAR FROM THE FINISHED PRODUCT, HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME WORLD-CLASS. REMEMBER THAT HE IS STILL VERY YOUNG AND, LIKE THEO, SHOULD GET BETTER OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS.

HE HAS ABSOLUTELY TREMEDOUS PACE, WHICH IS A GROWING NECESSITY IN THE MODERN GAME, AND JUST NEEDS TO IMPROVE HIS FINAL PASS TO END UP BEING AS EFFECTIVE AS A ROBBEN OR GIGGS.

I KNOW THIS OPINION WON'T MAKE ME ANY MORE POPULAR (COULD I BE? ) BUT IT'S HOW I SEE IT - THEREFORE IT MUST BE THE TRUTH!! 8)

I think Lennon has potensial, but he is in the wrong club. It is hard to be good when you learn from guys who can`t play football. Give Wenger a month with him, and he is twice as good as he is today. He went to the wrong club, and pays now the consequences.

He is a 20 minute player, nothing else.
