Jack Chester

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Jack Chester

Nice touch...
Arsene Wenger: Dedicating the game to Jack Chester...First I would like to dedicate this game to Jack Chester, a young boy who was last year the figurehead of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity, he did the press conferences with us. He died last Wednesday so I would like to have a thought for him tonight because he was in full power at the start, he made the full team photo with us. Unfortunately he had a resurgence of his cancer.
Remember seeing this kid in a lot of the PR stuff for TCT a few seasons back. Sure he would have enjoyed tonight.... RIP

That is horrible news, remember hearing about him.

He was in our academy for three years according to this.

he was at my school's sixth form when this all happened
was a part of the rugby team and despite not being able to play still went on tour to SA with them all to support them.

cancer is a c**t of a disease, whole school especially the sixth form are devastated, nice touch by le boss though

RIP young man, and thanks for an inspiring brave battle.

Full marks to a classy Wenger and the Arsenal organisation too.

RIP - very sad news. Always terrible when someone is taken away early but so much worse when it is someone so young.

I know that not everyone is into religion, but its really nice to believe that young Jack was looking down from up there last night enjoying the victory alongside other dear departed gooners.... George Armstrong on his left and Rocky on his right. Maybe my Mum bringing them all a cuppa at half time!

And my old man beside them, still giving out about Denilson! 8)

Such a tragedy when a young person dies like this. His poor family must be devestated. RIP. :(
