WELCOME HOME THE REAL THEO WALCOTT!

Post by gus ceasar is a legend »

Just wanted to express my delight at Theo's performance today!

That kind of display is just what he needed and I for one thought he was the turning point in a game when we took our foot off the gas far to soon!

We have all had our frustrations with TW32 I know, but if he can start putting that kind of energy with an end result from start to finish, then we truely have something very special on our hands!

He so deserved to score and you could see the poor sods frustration when the bounce off the post cruelly went the wrong way!

Keep it going our young pubescent winger soon to become goal scoring legend! Just have half the faith that I have in you and we will be more than ok!

I'm hoping he can use the U21 games this week to get a good run going. Had that sitter of a chance come after he set up the winner, I think he would have buried it. He did well enough, miss aside up till he set up Van Persie and then he exploded, suddenly he was all over Sunderland, setting up chances for others and then a bursting run. If he can just keep his confidence up, he can be so good

That was the best half hour he has had in an Arsenal shirt for me!

Keep going Theo........your time is coming!

Great shame that Theo could not finish off such a marvellous performance with a goal, I am sure it will come and when it does many more will follow. As for Baffoonderos....Look and learn Schevchenko

I personally don't think he has what it takes to be a Arsenal player
Great he has the pace & the skill but just like Lennon of Spurs they both have no strength
Theo at times gets chances laid on a plate & fucks up & when he crosses the ball in the centre he falls over, pulls back from the ball, gets tackled for being too slow or there simply do shit to get in the middle for goal
The reason we like & still have Theo is because he is young & english & we all want him to do well with us but did he come to the club abit too early from the saints????
Yes he did, the only way he is going to get better is getting more & more risking him for a better player or to send him to a premiership club (Birmingham most likely  ) so he can build on some games & experience & only a short peiod of time in the prem because it would be useless teaching/sending him to a scottish club though i wouldn't mind if Rangers did get him
Sure he is 18 still but with such talent as he looks & is we're not getting the best out of him unlike his form for England Under 21
He hasn't had bad games as off late & was close to scoring in the Newcastle game & tried to set up goals for Arsenal but he isn't cut out for the big time & if i was Wenger i would build him up before it's too late otherwise alot of fans will be unhppy for the then 16 year old transfer of £8 million (correct me if i'm wrong) if he left
So far he simply hasn't gone down well in my books but i hope i do get a slap in the face from him proveing me wrong

I doubt he will ever be the striker Arsene always claims he will grow to be. However with his Pace and skill he has the makings of a fine old fashioned winger. That miss was shocking to be honest but pity he hit the post.

If he keeps plugging away on the wing I am sure we will soon see a lot more of the lad.

stats/green-gooner, I think u guys are wrong .. theo has all the tools to be an arsenal legend .. the one thingthat is lacking now is confidence. Thats why he missed the sitter (he was too anxious to score that goal) ..

a few more perfromances like sundays, and theo would look totally different class .. as for strength, that would come with experience ... suring a game, strength is achieved mostly from how you balance yourself when you run, or go up against defenders (its not all about natural physical strength) ...

he is learning and improving and I am exited by the prospects that could be unleashed as he matures ...

Yeah I agree, if anybody else remembers this goal he scored for England U21s last season you can see the guy has the natural talent... even Quasi Modo himself says it in the clip

nice clip, All4Grabs .. he beat those german defenders as if they were standing still ...

and did you see that wonder goal he scored for southamptom, from the left wing .. really audacious .. let me search for that in uTube ... point is, a very confident walcott will be amazingly awesome ...

It was nice to see a good performance from Theo, but let's not get carried away by a good 30 minutes. I really hope he can play that well more and more, but realistically I think the next few matches he'll be back to disappointing us again. Hope he can prove me wrong, but I don't think we should get worked up about a good half hour against a tired Sunderland team.

His performances for the England U21's have tended to be good, the last two ones aside, his superb performance against a good German defence and a top talent in the keeper showed what he can. His Sunderland performance reminded me of the start of last season where he was very very good, including giving the Bolton left back a horrid afternoon. As has been said, he lacks confidence and when he lacks that, things don't come off for him.

Im sure I read somewhere that he didnt start actually playing football until he was 10 or 11? (correct me if im wrong anyone???)

People like rooney were shat out with a football! I think Theo has all the potential in the world just lacks that bit of experience that the likes of roony would have got playing everyminute of everyday up to the age of ten. dont laugh, serious. think about it all that football you play as a kid is invaluable to your experience of the game, the coaches etc teaching you how to actually play the game, positioning, losing your marker, finishing etc etc etc.

Theo will come good, he's just slightly behind in the development stakes.

We should be wary of going overbaord in the samy way as he shouldn't have been written off by some.

He did his job. I am happy for him and know he is developing - just hope people can keep the pressure off him.

Think it`s all about confidence for Theo. If he gets a good run, and score a couple of golas, I think he will get to the next level. I was really happy for him yesterday, and he deserved a goal. But for me an assist is as good as a goal :D
