Fifa 11 VS Pro Eve

Post by supergeorgegraham »

OK i have the last two fifas and was thinking of getting Pro Eve instaed this year.
Anyone out there played both ?
Maybe we could start a gooner fans league or something. Im using a PS3 so anyone who plays let me know.
Is Walcott still fast as hell on the new game ?
Always use him to get in a decent cross

Thats the problem with these games.....no matter how life like the makers claim the game to be there will always be one stand out aspect that reminds you that it is just fantasy

I'm well versed in both games.

PES has been on a downward spiral last few seasons, which has really seen Fifa grow to an even more dominant position. Should you get PES2011 instead of Fifa 11?

Having played the demo of each, I say no.

PES2011 felt like a better product overall than the last couple seasons, but it has too many glaring faults. The match setup and menu system is really clunky and unnecessary, burying information where it's difficult to access quickly and easily. Online, I suspect, will also continue to be a weak area - something Konami has an embarrassing record with when it comes to the PES series. And while I don't mind doing a little leg work in order to establish the proper kits in the game (using an option file) it's infinitely more convenient to just pick up Fifa 11 and play.

Fifa is a lot more accessible, is preferred by probably 4/5 owners of a football game, and has improved since 10 with cleaner graphics and minor tweaks in gameplay. I still feel Fifa's long-term weakness is present; its TOO "beginner friendly", and makes it too easy to abuse players like Gerrard, Villa, etc. I still feel that in-game players on higher level teams all feel and play quite similarly, minus shot power and speed characteristics. And when not playing 5-star teams, the game really feels generic.

Having said that, I still feel Fifa is the better buy right now. PES has a lot more work to do to recapture the pure fun of PES6.
