things that you have done for the arsenal

things that you have done for the arsenal

Post by stearmaster »

whats the most dramatic thing you have gone to to get a ticket or done personally for the arsenal, for example *bunk school to watch them and get seen on tele*.

i was meant to be at college or work *training course thing* and instead i went down to the arsenal to do a tour of the stadium didnt call in sick or anything and so i was on my way and then work/college must of called my dad then i got a phone call asking where i was  i said i was at work, my dad sed no your not thats when i knew so i said im at the arsenal doing the tour,

the funny thing was straight after that i went back into work/training   and said i had a hospital appointmant, so what things have you done and been caught out on or even to this day have not been caught out of.

hope me boss dont read this 8)

I once found a press pass outside Highbury and blagged my way into the clockend. another time I used a David O'Leary testimonial ticket for the SOLD OUT Arsenal vs Spuds game

Back in the day <sigh> took many a "sickie" from work to go to various northern hell hole away midweek games. Bunked afternoons off of school, most notably an FA cup replay away to Leicester in the early/mid 70s when I even had to pay for my mate to go coz he did'nt have the money, fink I saved my pocket and paper round money for weeks afterwards to pay me parents back for that one  and when west am knocked us out of the FA cup in 75 I was going out wiv a girl who supported them so I dumped her on the monday  Appy days :D

I had been in bed all week with a really bad head ache but on match day against liverpool in the last season at highbury i made sure i got there i could only see out of one eye and not much out the other i was draged from the tube station to the stadium and was sick i dont know how many times. The next day i was up the hospital and they found a blood clot at the back of the brain. That turned out to be my last ever game at highbury and although i don't really remember thae game because i couldn't see i will never forget that day.

Also had a opperation on my stomarch in July 10 and came out of hospital a week later stayed in bed all week in pain but on 22nd july in was dennis bergkamps testimonial so i struggled up there in a lot of pain. next day back up the hospital (i had split my scar open where i jumped up). again a day i don't regret and will always remember.

Two long hard days but totally worth it

Having been away in Africa for a few months travelling, I reorganised my flight to arrive back just in time for the game against Southampton where Paul Davis broke Glenn Cockerill's chin. I didn't even have time to go home to dump my bag, I had to leave it with a very trusting shop owner in Finsbury Park. (And no, I didn't see Paul D do the deed either, just like everyone else.)
