As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
To suggest that his challenge on Wolves’ Stephen Ward was accidental is crass and an insult to those watching football. And yet that is what Arsene Wenger attempted to do after the game, saying: ‘I think it was accidental, that’s what Cesc told me.’
At least Wenger did not fall back on his ‘I did not see it’ mantra.
He was calm and charming but I wonder how he would have reacted had Karl Henry made a similar challenge on one of his players.
What an absolute stupid fucking *word censored*. :awnker:
One thing I always look for in a referee is not knowing him. If you look down at the programme and see a ref you dont recognise the chances are they're not as shit as the rest, still probably shit though.
Thought he was a decent ref in his time, even if his ego was overinflated (after all being the best ref in the country is hardly the same as being the best centre forward). High profile mistake in the World Cup will always tarnish his reputation but he was still far better than some of the refs who have taken to PL games this year
Can't say that I disagree with his views on Cesc's tackle being an accident - it looked far more like a frustrated tackle than an accidental one.
The only thing Poll has said that looks daft is the bit about Karl Henry - perhape he was watching MOTD like hundreds of thousands of others and therefore didn't get to see it......but that's another thread
Im confused(not hard I know) on SSN this morning on the paper section they were talking about this article. The jurno who reviews the paper said that there was a tackle on Arshavin by Henry that has not been shown which was just the same if not worse. He then went on to say that if the Fabregas challenge happend the other way around we would still be hearing about it.
So
There was a bad challenge the other way around- which the jurno pointed out but then seemed to go back on what he said
The jurno said that it has not been shown and hardly reported- this is true but being a newspaper jurno isnt his job to report it. Perhaps he should of asked why sky and MotD did not show it
We are not hearing about the Fabregas challenge- the article in the paper they were discussing was talking about the Fabregas challenge, Talksport last night were still discussing the challenge?
In the space of 1 or 2 mins the jurno(I think he is from the mail?) contrdicted himself more than once????
